franksm
My previous Stag (FVH375L) loved GTX Magnatec 10w40. Absolutely smooth, powerful and quiet - and the car never dripped or drank. My current Stag (HVV416N) is suffering fouling of the sparkplugs, and sometimes smoky upon being started after being idle for a week - this is since putting Magnatec 10w40 in. Think I'll go back to mineral oil 20w - while I would prefer a semi-synth like Magnatec, it doesn't come in 20w. I change the oil every 3,000 miles on all my cars. The 10w stuff must be creeping past the valve stems.Any recommendations ?
wakaday
Stick a good old fashioned 20/50 in it. The Tolerances on a Stag engine are like open doors compared to todays fuel injected Exhaust driven wind pumped multi valve creations.I have always found Stags to dislike fancy multi prong spark plugs as well.
