Dekka
Evening all I’m about to install a ‘Mike Papworth’ reconditioned gearbox/overdrive in my Mk1 2ltr Vitesse….(probably been ask many times before🤔) but can I put 75/90 fully synthetic oil in it or is the a better recommendation from anyones experience? Clive
In can't see why not, as long as it is a GL4 specification In terms of recommendation, I have been using either Comma or Millers 80/90 GL4 spec oil for about 30 years in gearboxes and diffs. Seems to work well enough, although my Ford T9 gearbox uses 75/90 semi synthetic GL4 oil. I have bene tempted to use that in my Triumph boxes, but then think "what is the advantage?" GL4 is essential NOT GL5. GL5 is too slippery for the synchos to work correctly.

Dekka
I’ve now have a Vitesse 2ltr gearbox with overdrive….gears all selected well up & down box , ‘D’ type overdrive engaged positively it needs a refurb due to bearings being generally noisy! Any advice as to what I should put it up for price wise? TIA
