standardthread
These days I suspect most people put a specific cash value of fuel in their tanks, especially given the price? In the past when my mileage was greater I just used to fill up. Earlier this week I called at the local Esso petrol station in Castleford (owned by the Motor Fuel Group – MFG) to put some E5 in tide the car over winter. I expected to pay a premium. When I got home the ‘premium’ I had paid was about 20% (£175.9/litre) above the advertised roadside price for E10. Thinking I had mis-fuelled I went back for some E10 for our lawnmower. Low and behold, the price on the pump was significantly higher than the advertised price on the roadside. Trading Standards have been informed and it gave the lady I spoke to the heads up, she never checks pump to advertised price. Basically, I was conned and ripped off. So, beware, I doubt this is an isolated example.
