  1. Im happy to go with whatever the unpaid staff of this club chose to do to make things easier for them, and as been said earlier getting the cheque book out  is part of the event.
  2. We have booked in with the KYNKY TOLEDO again but that could change if we resurrect one of the others.
  3. After a bad RBRR in 2006 where lots of things went wrong and loads of things broke or stop working we decided to have plenty of spares (battery, alternator, carbs, fuel pump, distributor etc etc etc etc) for the RBRR 2008 just about everything we could need except......................... a wiper arm that came off the drivers side in the middle of a torrential down pour in the night on the motorway.
  4. Now that the 10 CT  has started when does the RBRR 2016 countdown go on at the top of the page ?
  5. As with previous RBRR's its about this time next year i start thinking about which car  to use and  part rebuild and mot 🙂
  6. CRAJ wrote:Unlike Steve we had a great reception at JOG (although I did witness his team's invisibility!), the breakfast was great with cereal, juice and waitress service for food and tea. LE by contrast was v v poor. They are a bigger establishment with probably slightly less people to cater for than JOG and yet you have to queue for half an hour for at best a dissappointment. No cereal or juice either. I wish I had thought of the McD alternative at the time, and they have toilets. BTW this is in no way a swipe at the CT organisers, the LE hotel have the facilities to make it work, they just haven't imho. Colin Thanks for the back up colin im sure people thought we was imagining it,we was by the cereal table for 10 minutes waiting for dishes then sat down and were totally ignored even when trying to get their attention then when we was eventually noticed they fetched us tea/coffee there was no milk, and we got toast with no butter or knives to use and when just asked for anything it seemed as though we was asking for more service than others there got without even asking for it. steve
  7. Gives me plenty of time to get things sorted on the kynky toledo.......... or do i leave it till aug/sep 2016.
  8. We was quite late getting to lands end but got a better reception from them than at J O G where we were ignored when we sat down while they served others that came in after us,
  9. Just about finished it off today, all spares and tools loaded and been out to brim the tank. only things left to do are rain x the windscreen, check tyre pressure's and load up the back seat with all the home made buns, snacks and drinks.  :) meeting up with Colin Radford  at 11am destination enfield.
  10. Although as usual we have left things late we are ahead of ourselves from previous RBRR's after a mad 3-4 weeks spent on getting the weighbridge bound rolling shell of a toledo put back together, now with tax and MOT and a good run down to the drivers meet we now have just a few things to do  and might even get some chill out time before setting off on friday. Today's list consists of changing the rear springs and shockers, sort out both door locks and start to get together the spares we are taking. Booked in for tracking on monday. steve team kinky toledo 68
  11. We had a good run down in the Toledo after 19 years off the road, only had a fan belt snap on the way back home, A 215 mile round trip. just a few bits of tweaking to do.
  12. A change of car for team 68, now its taxed and tested after 19 years off the road we will be using the toledo 2dr instead of the 2000, just a few jobs to do and sort out the spares.

Not all of this is complete way back in time but this is what I have for RBRR non finishers 1998      1 2004      1 2006      3 2008      6 2010      9        7.8% of total starters 2012      8        8.4% of total starters Regarding car types 2010 3 GT6 failed to finish of 9 entered so 33% failure rate 2012  4 Herald/Vitesses failed to finish of 10 entered so 40% failure rate I have no record of an Acclaim ever failing to complete any event So will we have 100 acclaims at the start for 2014 ?
