Made sure I filled the tank with unleaded with a minimum octane rating of 98 RON. My 7 was similar - ran on 98/100 octane in Europe and had no troubles with vapourisation even when giving it plenty of right foot up the passes. in normal driving the temperature was about 1/4 but never went above 1/2 however hard I drove it :)
  3. Beans, What's that fitted to the door, just below the window? H
  4. Beans, The Rimmer's TR7/8 catalogue v2.2 has an article on Harris Mann's original sketches of how he wanted the car to look - almost all of them show it with low profile tyres & alloy wheels. IMHO the car looks better with lower profile tyres and you would be following the original design idea before the bean (ouch!) counters got involved... Whatever you decide, your hard work has made it one fabulous car!
  5. I had totally forgotten about the proposed MG version - where on earth did you find the photo? Do you think those nice Chinese who produce the MGF would also produce an updated Magna? My other idea is to change the Triumph logos on my car & join the local MG club. The expression on their faces when they see the car would be priceless
  6. Beans is an absolute wizz with photo shop. For those who don't know he is from the dark side and is actually restoring an MGB
  7. Totally amazed at the work you are putting in to the refurb With all the very useful photos of just about every single part in bits have you thought about making them available on the Internet or on DVD when you have finished as they are exceedingly interesting to learners like me.
