  1. Thanks, Clive And thanks for trying. That explains it. It's not me being a numpty and missing it. Thanks for trying. You might think they have missed an opportunity there as Im sure CT is 100X more active than some of the ones on the 'discount list'! Oh well. I will give it a miss this year then as a point of principle. If the organisers don't see CT as a cornerstone of the Triumph world.. its their loss (of visitors and revenue).
  2. Im planning ahead.. But Club Triumph does not appear in the drop-down discount code box? I see TSSC, TR Reg etc.. are offering £20 off any ticket booked before 29th Feb... (Basically bringing a day down to £20 or a weekend with camping to £65) Am I missing the code.. or is there just not one for our club?
  3. If it makes you feel better mine is worse.. and not as solid as yours👍
  4. I drove down from Fife on Saturday. No problems.. Great to catch up with Colin and Dave in the evening. Getting back on Sunday was a bit 'fun' .. The M42, M5, and M6 were all shut at one point! One Question.. (not aimed at any of us as we are all excellent drivers I'm sure ..) WHY do people insist on sitting in the third lane at a constant 55mph when the inside two lanes are empty!!! At least some of them were kind enough to put their fog lights on so I could spot them a mile away in the bright sunshine!.. And I spotted exactly ONE Police vehicle on my 370-mile return trip (and that was in Auchtermuchty 5 minuted from home)😃
  5. I bought it because I'm an Idiot! I can (Now) tell you it will NEVER fit a Herald/TR4a IRS or a TR6! I will confirm the exact TT Number and upload a photo.. not that it looks very exciting... it just helps you stick to the road a little better.. so making your car even more exciting than it already is! It is a competition spring.. Fast Road/Rally. I'm sure it would love to help you visit different countries in the 10CR for instance... I will stick it in the Land Rover and take it to Stoneleigh on Sunday.. if anyone is interested IIRC around £120 new? Looking for £65 (which I immediately 're-invest' in parts for the Herald or the TR's!) Cheers Graham PS - or collect anytime from Fife
  6. Great adventure. Have fun.. I have done a lot of stage rallying.. but not endurance.. but here is my 2p worth. in no specific order Ensure everyone is familiar with the car and its workings. And is handy with mechanics or a hammer! Keep spare wheel nuts in the glovebox Add a second (Spare Coil beside the existing one for easy swap over) Run all fuel and brake lines inside the car. Take a small compressor/light etc.. (handy for blowing out fuel lines) Fit a decent fuel line filter in an accessible (bulkhead?) location so you can swap out easily. Use a filter mesh when you will up with fuel. Add Jacking points and consider a 'quick' rally (early VW type one as it can be more easily used for un-denting bodywork etc) or an air jack? Its Easier to protect vulnerable components/etc. than repair while on the roadside Do you need a 12v Welder? Pack stuff in the right order and secure stuff that you don't want stolen to save you having to remove it every night. Keep weight low down. Fit an FIA type cut off switch internally and use it every time you stop to protect your battery. Switch to LED lights? Wire headlights and any heavier loads via relays and upgrade your light switches. Fit a navigator horn push, 12v socket and navigation light (with a spare lamp attached to the stalk). pen/.pencil holder and cup/bottle holders. Consider a navigator foot rest and use an intercom to reduce stress and noise in your ears! (You can also switch your navigator/driver off if they annoy you lol) Swap to more comfortable seats (with back/bolster support?) Speak to folk to find the weak spots on the car and then re-enforce/plate them up before you hit the road. Take waterproof socks! ASK any one who did the RBRR this year.. Fit a roll over bar? Can you fit an LSD? Fit a simple mild steel exhaust (It can be welded) and get it as high as possible and protected with a skid plate? Do you need to retain the anti-roll bar (Depends on the road surface). Don't make the suspension too stiff.. its endurance not racing.. Fit the 12v Battery (Do you need to upgrade it at the same time to HD?) into a battery box behind the seat on the floor with protection underneath add a compass (take a standard one too) and clock that can be illuminated at the press of a button but runs off its own battery Use LED/12V rechargeable torches with their own specific location in the car. Take head/hat mounted lights. Take pvc/working gloves (Easier than cleaning grease off your hands) Fix spare plugs and a fan belt (or two) securely under the bonnet/bulkhead area, inspect/renew/replace heater pipes (Kevlar) Don't forget the under dash ones as they are often forgotten and often rotten! Consider Rally/4x4 (reinforced sidewall and 13mm of tread) tyres with good tread photocopy all of you documents/passports (can you find a place for a secure/strong box and bolt it down) Just don't take extra weight (like metric spanners and sockets) unless you need them. Go on a couple of shakedown events Sorry its a bit off the top of my head Good Luck.. more time prepping means less time fixing.. The 'spares/repairs' box is one I can cover later if you wish?
  7. So A 'simple' (I hope) question for anyone who happens to have a TR6 Master Cylinder Bracket and a tape measure... My Bracket has been, like the rest of the car, modified... There are, confusingly, two sets of holes to hold the bracket down onto the bulkhead. One way it appears to put the master cylinder too far forward, while the other pushes it too far back (and drops the clutch pedal down a bit!). Can anyone tell me the correct place for the holes, in relation to the front/back of the bracket? ie what are the dimensions of the base plate holes.. It could be that neither set of holes is correct! That's fine as I will just weld and drill new holes OR buy a new bracket.. Any help is, as always appreciated. 👍 Thanks Graham PS - The pitch between the holes is set by the bulkhead captive nuts/holes, however, as its a LHD conversion, I don't want to assume anything. I wonder if the 'Professional Restorers' simply got it wrong and drilled extra holes to make it work? 🤨
  8. I have had two CTEK chargers pack up on me. Expensive and good when they work. Perhaps pick up a charger from Lidl or the like - they have 6v/12v and 'recovery' as well as 'cold/winter' modes.. they are around £13 odd.. I have a couple and they are still working while my CTEK is waiting (in a big pile of other stuff) to be fixed/binned! I also use a Battery Checker (Not the old fashioned big resistive load job).. these are pretty good and worth it just to prevent you from ending up down a fault-finding dead end (We have all been there!). This kind of thing: https://cpc.farnell.com/duratool/d03406/battery-tester-slalithium/dp/IN08754 looking at Why it drained is a great idea. (Clock/Radio/Alarm are the usual culprits!) Or to save time/effort right now you might think about fitting a cut-off switch like a Discarnect as you don't need to drill and mount it like you do an FIA cut off style one. This idea https://www.halfords.com/motoring/car-accessories/interior-car-accessories/richbrook-dis-carnect-battery-immobiliser-249628.html There are lots of places you can buy them (Just remember NOT to place the fuse in the holder.. other versions have no fuse).
  9. There WAS footage of 'someone' Dad Dancing... However, YouTube has probably banned it as its high standards made Professionals jealous. I also heard mention of a 'couple of Studs' at the Marshalls table... alas they were Wheel studs! (Deflated Dad and Grandad!)
  10. Hi all I love tartan... however.... Not as the colour for our Triumph Herald rear seat!😅 I'm looking for Matador Red backrest and seat squab for a 1200 convertible (i think they are all the same.. but happy to be corrected). FYI - I'm located in Fife. In case you want to put a face to the name...I will see all of you RBRR entrants (Again) at Kinross and Gartcosh.. (Im the one that isn't Mike Bishop!)
  11. Looking forward to seeing everyone at Kinross & Gartcosh (or wherever you need me)👍
  12. Hi  Im looking for info on who can supply a certified roll cage for a Mk1 2000. Needs to be MSA/FIA apprived and certificated.   The last one i bought is still in my Herald that Mike B has... it was made by Safety Devices, but they are not able or interested in doing the job for the 2000...   Any pointers or names of who to contact would be appreciated.   Thanks all.   Graham
  13. Would it fit the TR?   Do you think large or small saloon?
