  6. Hi Clive iMabel is a 12/50 so has a mk2 spitfire cam shaft . I’m having the engine completely machined top to bottom  oversize pistons to suit and also crank bearings and thrust washers to suit, , new valves, guides  springs, hardened seals, new cam followers, oil pump, timing gear,  and anything else which need replacing  so should get her sorted   Thanks Clive  😊

  7. It’s pretty

much the same engine, as 13/60  signifies 1300cc and 60hp hence the 13/60, most  small chassis triumph engines can be easily fitted into other small triumphs so it’s nothing too unusual  to find this, as lots of these older cars are made up of bits of others, - we call them bitsas -  as in bits of this and bits of that,  just enjoy your car   Hope this  helps 😊

The FBHVC scheme, managed by Tree-v, is now in its third year.  The attachment below shows the progress that has been made during the last year.  This climate initiative backs up the FBHVC's credentials in lobbying the government to protect the continuing use of Historic and Classic vehicles.

To see details of the scheme follow the link below. Annual membership and event membership can be purchased at the FBHVC website.

Heard a funny noise when setting of for Lincoln on Sunday, .....and after investigation found a badly worn wheel bearing. How it didn`t collapse after a 150 mile jaunt I don`t know. Other side to be done this week

Hi. I will remove the old one first then if not the pip I will remove the manifold to look at the core plug. I’ve not long had the car and checking it all over before I take it out for a ride there is a lot I’ve got to do so it won’t be on the road for a bit.

There’s usually more to do than you think once you start 🙄

  14. Hi Glang, on the Herald you need to remove carburettor , inlet and  exhaust manifolds and to unbolt the exhaust bracket on the bell housing  it’s a faff lol

the water return pipe can be changed without removing the ancillaries by feeding it behind the manifold.as with the Vitesse but can’t get to the core plug without removing all the  above,  I suspect that Steve has insoected the core plug too  which explains removal of carb, manifolds , exhaust  etc

    • Thanks 1
  15. That’s bad luck I had the core plug behind the manifold leak  on Mabel  I fitted a new stainless water return pipe on her too
