So the 2000 mk 2 affectionately known as ‘the shed’ has been installed into its shed or rather a federal express container, Drove well for the 126 miles M5/M6, now some fettling to get it running sweetly, unfortunately Darren’s polishing skills won’t be needed just yet !!!

Billy Bodger has had more than one go at poor Mabel, you really don’t want to know - but would you use garden hose pipe to replace the heater hoses 🙄 this was the engine bay when I got her

After rescuing Mabel from Billy Bodger and his blind mate, came time to check the state of the brakes, oh what a mess, couldn’t believe someone had actually put new front pads into totally knackered calipers, and the rear brakes were beyond belief, so she had new calipers, pads, drums, shoes, adjusters, wheel cylinders and retaining clips and pins throughout and a nice new set of stainless brake hoses and new copper brake pipes, also new master cylinder. cant believe the things some people will do !!

138 in Mabel, must the least anyone in the club has done lol having said that she had been off the road since 1996 until September this year,

Looks like everyone has taken advantage of the clement New Years day weather

It will be a great tour and will commemorate 100 years of Triumph and the success of the Alpine run by Triumphs

Hi Bruce it was from Accuspark had the complete kit, dizzy, non ballast sports coil, Iridium plugs and new set of leads. go direct to them - not through eBay, find them on google can recommend totally 👍

Should have done this upgrade ages ago 👍 recommend it to anyone nice and easy no electric/wiring issues to worry about

Mabel’s new electronic ignition fitted today, not without challenges, Darren took out the first spark plug and it fell and wedged behind the starter Motor, I was able to fish it out with a screwdriver, then the new coil was fitted. No problem there, the distributor clamp had to be fettled as it became distorted after the old distributor locked, so Darren had to bend it back into shape, everything then went smoothly. Darren set the timing and she started and ran well what a relief - hopefully the end of the ignition trouble
