  1. Anyone know what size the circlips are for a GUJ115 UJ and where to get oversized ones from?   Whilst I replaced mine last year...one of them does seem to be spinning also :/  Sounds ok..it's just something I noticed on inspection... GUJ101 GUJ101
  2. Depends if you do it yourself? New UJ's required and possbily oversized circlips if the yokes have worn. Half-shafts will need to come out...
  3. Well @ £9.49 delivered, this is exactly the same as my existing slave cylinder and has a 3/8" UNF connection. So worth it at half the price https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAN.....p2057872.m2749.l2649
  4. Well, having refitted my gearbox...it all seems good with the original slave cylinder.  Not sure whats changed but all works well after a gearbox n od rebuild.
  5. Couple of weeks delivery...but only £12.98 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pow.....5:g:b6AAAOSwc6JaYwWR Although  with a feedback rating of 0.....you might be in for a sting :/
  6. I used a smear of moly based grease in the end. Pig of a job getting that gearbox in as I have extra weight with an overdrive.   Still...all in now. Just need to get everything reconnected and will test briefly before I attach the prop. Thanks for the helpfull info.
  7. Thanks. Should I grease the spline? Also where the release bearing carrier sits on the shaft.?
  8. Hopefully going to put my gearbox back in tomorrow. Just wondered if the outward face of the clutch release bearing should be clean and free from grease where it touches the clutch plate?
  9. Looking at this: http://www.roverparts.com.au/clutch_slave_cylinder___series_2_2a If you click on item 10..it says hose  and 3/8" UNF....hoping it'll be this
  10. Well I bought one ....I'll let you all know when I get round to fitting it with my newly rebuilt gearbox and overdrive just back from Paul at First Motion Transmissions
  11. Both those ebay items even have the same markings too!
  12. Just wondering if these are compatible. They look similar and are the same 7/8" bore? Anyone know if they are? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRI.....8:g:22MAAOSwk5FU02S0 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lan.....8:g:GjUAAOSwdUZZlB-k Half the price too!
  13. I changed the slave cylinder before gearbox was fitted. Bought it from Paddocks and it was for a Vitesse 6, which is a 7.8" bore. This was the old one: https://ibb.co/cM7xfR https://ibb.co/jdeXEm https://ibb.co/hYreum I'll have  alook at it and double check the bore diameter again..if it's the larger wouldn't there be less travel? Could I use a 1" bore, have less travel and therefore no potential problem?
  14. Just taken it off...no tell tale marks on flywheel or pressure plate? Correct orientation...so not sure what's been happening here?
  15. I hope so...it all worked ok..other than the noise when pushing further down.?   I'll have to have a look again now   .... Gearbox is still out so a quick job to check!
  16. Maybe the extra travel causes it to push and catch on the 4 bolts that hold the flywheel in?? What happens if it's put in the wrong way round out of interest?
  17. Well having removed my clutch I think I've found the rumbling cause...  As I said that when I push right down I get a noise of something catching...seems it's the friction plate springs..judging by the marks as can be seen. I guess that extra travel causes it to stick and rub?Last thing I changed was my slave cylinder..before the gearbox went back in....maybe too much travel now.... https://ibb.co/iUkSvR
  18. Took the clutch off and had a look at the buttomoment of the flywheel. ..as you can see. ..no oil..just a lady bird

  20. So, if I have a scroll...is it likely ok?  Just reading the replies I'm guessing it's the best one to have over a lipped oil seal. There are no further seals to a scroill..just the scroll and the hosuing and the gasket? I guess best thing is to remove the clutch and flywheel and inspect. I'll take some pics too.

  22. How easy do those flywheel come off? Mines 1964..I havea feeling it'll be a scroll..... http://www.mevspares.co.uk/REA....._cat=264&child=0 Rimmers do the old scroll type..£24 :/  https://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-137374U
