  1. 45 miles away in a different county.
  2. He knows they're a rarity- he's got another one in his workshop. He also knows they're not worth the sort of money the rarity should bring. As for if he's likely to get round to it, he's got 3 or 4 GT6s, a spitfire and the second Courier van in his workshop, while talking to him I got the impression he realises his limitations. I've no idea how much the decomposing remains of a Courier van is worth & also don't have the time/space or money to consider it.
  3. I think it's one of those 'projects' that will never be started... I had a look on the DVLA database, the last time it was taxed was 1992, 2 years after it was in the RBRR 😒
  4. I stumbled upon this earlier today, it has a 1990 RBRR sticker on the door & a green/yellow club Triumph sunstrip. The owner says it's one he plans to do one day...
  5. Welcome @TurningSpanners I love the slot mags on your Dolly. My money pit, AKA Ellie is looking like this at the moment. When I started the work on her in February there were a few jobs I needed to do & thought I'd be driving around in her by summer...
  6. It fits... almost. I'll have to shorten the pushrod & that'll be me with a brake master cylinder 😊
  7. As I'm only the third owner & the previous owner seemed to be averse to changing parts, I have no reason to believe mine originally had anything other than the one Glang posted. I was toying with the idea of a clutch master cylinder but decided against it, I don't think a weeping wheel cylinder would take long to empty the small reservoir
  8. I have now ordered the rather expensive but correct master cylinder from Rimmers. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GMC224ORIG Thank you everyone for your help.
  9. Ouch, that's more expensive than the dual circuit ones (which definitely won't fit) I'll do as Wendy suggested and try Flitcetts in the morning, if they can't help (and beat the price) it looks like Rimmers will be getting an order. Thank you for the help 😊
  10. That's the same as the one I bought at Stoneleigh, the reservoir diameter is too big, the wiper mechanism passes through the bulkhead directly behind the brake master cylinder on a Mk3, it would be fine on a Mk4/ early 1500 where the wiper mechanism passes through the bulkhead to the right of the master cylinder. 🫥
  11. Unfortunately my original is long gone, the bore would never have been able to seal due to heavy pitting and scoring.
  12. They're the same as in the photo in the link you posted.
  13. Hi peeps, I'm in need of a new brake master cylinder & so far I've received 2 different ones which are both wrong, the car has single circuit brakes. So far I've had one which I bought at Stoneleigh earlier this year, the reservoir on that one is too big a diameter & fouls the wiper mechanism. The second one I purchased clears the wiper mechanism but is too tall. Does anyone know what master cylinder I need to order? I can't find one identical to the original. 😒 First photo is the old one, second shows the height issue of the second one & third one shows the problem with clearance with the wipers.
  14. Assuming the old one was just giving a low ride height, it would probably be the best option to rebuild the original one with new buttons.
  15. I had exactly the same issue & came to exactly the same solution.
  16. Error 404 showing when I click the link too.
  17. Their delivery times are only a couple of days & they sell lots of different size adapters, it would be worth taking the hose off, measuring the ID & ordering the size to suit.
  18. The switch has a 10°C operating range, it switches on at 95°C & off at 85°C. The off temperature has to be above the thermostat opening temperature, I'm running a 82°C thermostat therefore it would be the correct one for me. They do lots of other switches with different temperature ranges & it's a nice anodised aluminium housing.
  19. Another alternative to having a boss soldered to the header tank is to use one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174003529483
  20. Your video was my inspiration, I was looking forward to doing it this year, unfortunately my Spitfire needed far more work than I expected. There'll be no excuse in 2025 & I'll hopefully make it all the way round. Good luck for your journey 😊
  21. I've finally got my engine built & fired it up on the engine test stand. Now to fit the engine, replace the entire braking system, the wiring loom & finish the suspension... Video is of the first start, before tuning. 20230902_143013_1.mp4
