  1. Hmm, im not so Sure about the headliners.. The A and B post were covered in black like the a oost in this picture http://www.autominded.net/brochure/triumph/TriumphSpitfireGT6204.jpg
  2. Hi, Before fitting alu rack mounts and thus earthing to the steering box, i placed a wire with eyelet on the filler bolt, nr 36.
  3. Yes, and quite simple to DIY. I soldered two eyelets to a piece of thick wire and bolted them using existing bolts at the coupling. Total cost 2£ or so? Example. http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-130581
  4. I swapped a later wiper motor in my TR2 and had to figure out what degree gear i needed. I taped a piece of paperon the windscreen  after the swap and draw the current angle of the later wipermotor and the Wanted angle.
  5. Could buy the correct hub from chiq doig and use 14" mg wire wheels
  6. I would definately go for the newton kit, ordered at newton itself. I have seen it, and it looks and fits great. Colors are limited, but black would do fine.
  7. 1218 wrote:AFAIK all the moulded ones come from Newton if they aren't NOS. Mark Correct, bought a kit for a friend at rimmer, to find out that it was labeled newton...
  8. Perhaps something like this ? http://www.getlithium.com/1-lithium-ion-battery-pages/GT500-SBS40-Car-Truck-Marine-lithium-ion-batteries.html Have seen these in a tr4 racing in competition. Enough amps to start. With a fresh dynamo you should have enough for driving and lights. Perhaps change as much bulbs to led

    CARPET SET

7952 wrote:I like the look of your interior Eddie. Mine was torn apart when I bought it so I have never really known what it should look like. As for the H piece, I have a new wooden dash, and plan on veneering the H support also. If you need anything about the detailing let me know, i can take pictures or tell you how it was delivered originally. I like to know everything about my cars, changes during production etc. Of course you have seen that my 4 gauge centre dash is not original, but i like the looks. Besides that, the prototype of the gt6 was designed by michelotti with the 4 gauge layout. They all have the orange needle though

    CARPET SET

I have thought bout that, i even bought the material to do the H-piece. After sitting in the car and rethinking the design. I felt that the h-piece belongs to the dashboard, which has black details, like the top, the oh-shit-bar, the glove boxes and the a-posts (still have to do those, they are supposed to be black, like the b-posts too). I have seen a review from the 60-ies which was in black and white, but you could see a difference in the shade of the h-piece. I think the car as white with red interior and the shade looked much the same..

    CARPET SET

that were my thoughts too in the days. i like to dark blue look with the shadow blue interior more than the black. the contrast is a bit more soft with the blue on blue. Dont mind the kickpads on the doors, perhaps i will replace them in the future. The wrinkels on the tunnelcover bother me, so thats why i will opt for a moulded some day.

is the blue, dark blue and moulded?

    CARPET SET

I have the gt6 version, it suits, sort of....... Wrinkles every where. I would save my money and put aside some more cash to go for a newton commercial moulded one. This looks factory fitted!
  15. Would driven the **** daylight out of it ... Looks great to do a running resto in the coming decade.. Only thing i would change is a mk1 in stead of 2 :)
  16. garyf wrote:I've been after a two piece boss kit for a Formula Woodrimmed wheel for ages! I'm not familiar with 3D Printers, how do you replicate the Splined part of the Boss that fits on the the Steering column? Gary Hi, you wont... These are replications of the plastic covers. The splined part is a metal piece, which can be sourced and made to fit from other steering wheels as used for tr4 spitfire herald or gt6.
  17. Hi Robin ;) i can recommend the set ! very happy with it, because i have 2 steerings wheels (wood and leather) and used 1 set for both..

    GT6 Mk I Trim No 27

Not really, a couple.. This is a pic from a sales flyer A couple just after replacing the dash As you can see the carpet is blue. This is not original. It should be black. The lower half of the doorcards is black too, The contrast with black is a bit too high. When doing the job, spend some more money and buy a moulded one from newton. They fit soooo much better than the cheap ebay carpet i bought... When my tr2 is ready this will be one of the first action to replace it.. Oh the white trimmig on the windscreenposts should be black, just like the b post.
