  1. Sorry to read you've had to call it a day with Mabel. They are bottomless spending pits, that's one of the characteristics of this hobby! Hopefully Mabel has found someone with some spare cash to look after her and you can get lots of "smiles per miles" with Darren in other Triumphs
  2. A good read that Andy, thanks. Well done! Tempted for 2025.
  3. Thanks, much appreciated. I'm already planning my adventures for next year. This would be just after I finish full time work so an excellent way to celebrate! In the meantime I'm envious of all the RBRR starters!
  4. I know it's a long way off, but has the weekend been fixed for BR 2024? Grateful for any guidance. John
  5. Thanks Jos, did the Fishguard one tell you when they do open on Sunday mornings?
  6. Update on petrol stations in West Wales for anyone who´s interested. There´s a 24 hour Esso station in Fishguard on the seafront. We should all be able to get that far if full in Shrewsbury. Not long now.....
  7. Amazing what some gold paint can do! What does the diff sound like? Good luck!
  8. This is what I've found: for anyone wanting Shell V-power there's also a 24hour Shell station just off the Shrewsbury by-pass: Thieves Lane (I hope their prices don't match the name!). After that there's a Texaco in Fishguard that opens at 6am and a 24 hour Texaco approaching Haverfordwest. Good luck with preparations everyone and I look forward to seeing you all at the start!
  9. I think he´ll find time hiding next to the long stand 🙂
  10. Indeed, and the first cars will have to watch out for the sheep! They tend to like lying in the middle of the road at night since the tarmac stays warm. Looking forward to news of when entry opens!
  11. Doesn't the "C" refer to Carbodies involvement on the estates?
  12. Did you manage to sort this Luc? I've now changed these on my TR6 so could send you my old one off injector 4. Prefer swap for your leaky one so I have a complete set of fittings spare. Cheers, John
  13. I'm enjoying watching your progress with this. My TR6 also has a mix of push in and screw in injectors, not an issue. Personally I'd replace the injector pipes if you don't know how old they are and definitely fit new O rings to the injector adaptor blocks. TR Trader (Prestige Injection) will sell you all these at decent prices. A pain ordering stuff in UK after Brexit. I live in Germany so tend to pick things up when I'm over there to avoid that hassle. If your injector pipe leak is right at the elbow you may be able to shorten it slightly and force it back on. The workshop manual describes the process. Good luck!
  14. I amongst others no doubt know where this is😀
  15. Hi Jack, You´ve got the answers you were looking for. The TR6 has a similar air direction control pictogram: I usually tell people it´s for the ejector seat, don´t touch it!
  16. Any ideas about which weekend yet? I ask since I´m contemplating doing C2C in my German registered TR6 and then using it in Wales for a couple of weeks and then locking it away in Northern England until early August and doing Border Raiders as well (and another stint in Wales) before driving it back over here. Looking forward to a TRIUMPHant 2023! John
  17. If the dates need to be moved, I´d prefer 17th / 18th June to avoid a clash with another TR event in Germany. Cheers, John

    engine oil

Hi Ray, It's done pretty well if it's the first service since 1963! It might reject any new oil on principle😉. I use the castrol classic 20/50 in my TR6 but I change it every year. Cheers, John
  19. Thanks for posting Howard. I thoroughly enjoyed re-living the run. Some detours to suggested route noticed before/ around Hastings! Cheers, John
  20. Very sad! Just met her at this year's C2C, a lady with great presence and determination. RIP Nuala
  21. Thanks Chris, you're welcome! Heritage transport enthusiasts working together. I'm pleased with the result too. Cheers, John
  22. Dave was a great co-driver Pete, no boiling over! I did 4000km in my TR6 in June without failure: TRusty TR!
