Brian
Help! I had my alloys diamond turned and lacqured, but within 12 months the lacquer is peeling and corrosion is starting again. has anyone else managed to keep lacquered alloys in good condition, or I am better off stripping and polishing them?Any help or advice would be gratefully received as the appearance of my wheels is awful. :(Many thanksBrian
Jason
Whilst on the subject - I've often womdered why alloy wheels aren't annodised and then clear powder coated - is it just cost?
Bryan
Hi Brian , mines were just cut back when i bought the car but weren't laquered, they required keeping on top off after every journey though. Having said that i had zero peeling or corrosion. I used an alloy wheel cleaner (for un laquered alloys) and it worked a treat. I don't understand why yours should be peeling other than the preparation wasn't good (wheels not properly cleaned and surfaces prepared)or poor laquer. maybe someone will advise if they have had theirs laquered and advise better than i can. Brian
HiThanks for the replies. I think the way forward is to strip and polish my wheels - a lot of work!
