stag_ste Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 My Stag has a Rover V8 powerplant running twin 1.75" SU carbs on a standard RV8 inlet manifold and a standard manual O/D 'box via an adaptor plate. To get the engine in without needing a bonnet bulge, I lowered the front cross member by about 12mm.Currently it is running on the standard spring set up and feels too high, soft and wallows alot. What springs can I fit to regain the normal ride height and also does the suspension set up need adjustment to correct any difference in camber caused by the lowering of the crossmember? Where can I get these springs from and do I need to fit a different damper too?ThanksSteve
shenderson Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Monarch provide suitable springs, possibly also Robsport and Rimmers. I think the only way to correct the camber is to reposition the pickup points on the cross member - fill in the existing holes and re-drill.Before doing that I would assemble everything with the new springs and get the camber measured. You might find it's within spec.Steve
