Bit of trunnion advice

I notice when re-assebling the verticle link into a new trunnion there was some sideways movement... not sloppy just you can move the link a couple of mm's left right/back and forth. There is no verticle movement when assembled, none at all its firm/solid as you would expect and good for the MOT.

I checked the thread in the verticle link and this seems fine, the thread is flat top and no signs of wear.

is this the norm?

I assume you've got the ones with the rough surface finish on the outside. They are way to large in the guiding bore (approx. 0,4mm in diameter). Thats why they are so loose.
