  1. When driving I want to enjoy driving without worry of my next direction change and make the most of the road I'm on. When I'm a passenger I want to soak in the views or get some rest. And some passengers are terrible at giving directions, even more so if they need rest. Ultimately, this is my own event when I'm in the car and they way I choose to do it is not the business of anyone else and certainly does not make it any more or less of an achievement as anyone else. I get out of it what I choose to. Same as I wouldn't state anyone using a car worked on by a garage, or previous own hasn't achieved the same as me. You paid someone else to weld up that rust? You paid some to rebuild your engine? Your co-driver did your oil change? Well, you're obviously not putting in the same amount of effort as me then... This is the first time I've not created or shared sat nav files.
  2. Gor those interested I'll be offering magnetic diversion plates at the entrance. They're rectangular and a random jumble of letters and numbers and intended the confuse the cameras. They were picked randomly out of a hat and are as follows; D G 0 6 V Y I'm not sure how to fully arrange them just yet, but I'll sure I'll stumble on an idea.
  3. So that was you? Sorry, we left you on your own as mine was the last to leave before yours. 🤣
  4. I'm beginning to think Triumph owners are like goldfish - they grow to their tank size. With so many big saloons entered it's only natural that the drivers will expand to match the avaliable space. That's why I'm still so thin - I use a herald! And I get plenty of exercise pushing it when it breaks down.
  5. Not driven the car for over a year since the wheel tried to escape at 80mph one July or putting new crank bearings in in April after an oil hose went wonky whilst testing if the wheel would now stay on the car. Will it pass the MOT retest at 8am on Saturday... or will I arrive at the drivers meeting in the van? I hope it passes. It'll give me more time to paint over the rust inside the car and see if the radio and phone chargers still work ready for the event.
  6. The MOT station can't stop you driving it away. It states that in the manual.
  7. It's pretty clear cut. Failing the MOT Your vehicle will fail if the test result lists ‘dangerous’ or ‘major’ problems with your vehicle. You might not be allowed to drive until you fix the problems. You might also get a list of ‘minor’ or ‘advisory’ problems to monitor or fix in the future. If your vehicle fails the MOT: you’ll get a ‘refusal of an MOT test certificate’ from the test centre it will be recorded in the MOT database You can appeal the result if you think it’s wrong. Driving a vehicle that’s failed You can take your vehicle away if: your current MOT certificate is still valid no ‘dangerous’ problems were listed in the MOT Otherwise, you’ll need to get it repaired before you can drive. If you can take your vehicle away, it must still meet the minimum standards of roadworthiness at all times. https://www.gov.uk/getting-an-mot/after-the-test
  8. I'm using a Samsung S22 Ultra and Opera browser. When typing a reply to a message random new lines are often added, approximately 10 each time. This makes it almost impossible to type a reply as i have to go back and edit the post whilst typing and often have new lines added during the process. It's as if the page is loading something and chucking where I'm tDown the input box. It just did in there, hence the big gap. This is probably the best example of it doing it, as in, it's only done it once. I just gave up typing a small reply to someone because it became impossible to keep up. No other website has this problem.yping
  9. I've always considered you a bit of a one-handed typist.
  10. Mine needs an engine rebuild after a hose dropped off the cessna oil cooler. I'm hoping I get away with a reshelll. But the turbo could be scrap too. It's only done 30 miles since a rear wheel tried to escape at 80 mph when a uj exploded in June 2022. It's the same herald I did my first rbrr in when it had 60bhp. These days it may have more power, but it's still just as big of a challenge.
  11. The option to buy crew tickets became avaliable after I'd bought mine. That might be the case for all, or I may have been too quick.
  12. Cool. When I clicked there was one option to buy an entry. I checked afterwards and options to buy team members were now available. On my phone it was 18:59 when i did my init entry so I wasn't sure if I slipped into a crack. I went from Team 17 to 19 in this period. Just making you aware in case it becomes relevant in the future. 👍
  13. It appears the main entrant has to buy a ticket which activates the team, then team members can buy their entry? Or did I just get in too quickly before everything in its entirety went live?
  14. Can we save the buzz generation until after I've got an entry. I'm not going out for a meal and not seeing the girlfriend because of the opening.
  15. Over the years with different tyres I've run; 26F 24R 28F 28R 32F 32R Right now I'm running 32 all round and I can feel the sideways move around on bends. Basically, the correct tyre pressure is whichever feels right for you and your driving.
  16. I guess I better make a start on rebuilding the engine at some point then...
  17. Interesting info. I had to switch to DOT 5.1, drilled discs, brake ducting and Mintex 1155 pads to overcome fade. Mine doesn't get used on track days.
  18. Oh, so it's a vegetable? We're meant to use vegetable oil for braking systems? I'm off to the chippy for a brake service! And maybe a cheeky sausage.
  19. In reply to me? Honestly, no idea on failure. Fluid? Fine. Strip down and inspect? All fine. Happened in 2020 in February. I'd changed the master cylinder at the beginning of January. I can remember those details due to life events at the time and it shitting me up quite a bit!
