  1. Well REbecca has now managed to do what I couldn't and here's part 1 of all the video I took of the Raider's triumph - part 2 tonight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hg31-n5Wx0&list=UUbGS151WtcfRKg4Pz9Pc8Eg&index=1&feature=plcp
  2. Here is Rebecca's video of the Raider's Triumph - pretty good I reckon and fun too :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2fSban5WlCc&list=PLdmBKd3qZNYKM5OgCDF55SDl_DTLgylqM&feature=plcp
  3. OK - attached are the full results ;) 1st Michael Helm/Gilliam Helm 301.2 2nd Mike (Handbrake) Bishop/Darren Armitage 331.1 3rd Phillip Charlton/Kirsty Stanley  334.2 4th Steve Thompson/Gary Seddon 365.9 5th Bryce Greenwood/Rebecca Randle 373.4 6th Barry McGrath/Tracy Depledge 404.9 7th Rebecca Randle/Bryce Greenwood 429.1 8th Peter Fern/David Wilson 503.5 9th Mike and Jane Charlton 521.1 The number of wrong test went up towards the end of the day - that made a big difference to the results ;) Next year - the Raider's Return 8)

  5. Next year's Raider's will be on Sunday October 6th. Friday the 4th will a Pendle and Pennine meeting so it should be quite a weekend :) Already listening to feedback you see ;)
  6. Like it! But I don't like the video software for my camcorder >:( Teed off with it at the moment so it may be some time before I get my videos up on Youtube(naughty)
  7. MikeyB wrote:just back home, had a cracking drive back to Morecombe yesterday cross country and through the Trough of Bowland. After a big roast with darren's parents, followed by wine, port and brandy, promptly dozed off in the chair! Thanks Martin for organising a great event, I tried to look as entertaining as possible, hope somebody got some pics.   We need to tie it in with a P&P meeting next time though   :) Now off to fix that bloody handbrake    :-/ Next year I will plan on the same weekend as the October meeting. You were certainly entertaining Mike or should I say "Handbrake" ;D
  8. Yes tubes go bang if there's a penetration, a tubeless tyre tends to hold on to the nail/whatever and a slower deflation happens. Not if a huge bit of angle iron goes through the tyre of course!
  9. I like those Gaz :) I also hope someone got some video of the tests at Lateral. I'll try and get some video on soon ;)
  10. Don't quite agree there Clive. If the rim is not suitable then it needs tubes in - even with tubeless tyres. Having said that, I can't imagine by 1976 even BL were sending out cars with tubeless tyres on wheels that weren't suitable. IN fact here is the 1976 brochure and it clearly states tubeless tyres as original equipment as well as the car having "safety ledge rims".  So if the car has OE rims there should be no issue fitting tubeless tyres.
  11. Updated the Driver Challenge table with the Raider's result - don't worry Ferny, I have now remembered you want your points in the Driver Championship and they will be transferred ;) Very close at the top now with Mike Bishop only 2 points behind Dale.
  12. Good point Mike. Leaving that aside -- The first Raider's Triumph is over and thanks to all marshalls, competitors and my wife for her support. Really enjoyed the day and have just watched lots of video of the tests at Performance and Protection. When I have loaded the necessary software I'll get it onto Youtube but it may take some time. Congratulations  to 3rd Philip Charlton/Kirsty Stanley 2nd Hanbrake Bishop/Darren Armitage 1st Gillian Helm - oh, with some help from the old man ;D
  13. Now up to 10 entries :) Thanks to Andy Flexney,Andy Heeley and Paul Darbyshire today for helping set the tests up. Here's for a good day's motorsport tomorrow :)
  14. I have replied and said yes. It does make it a bit difficult admin wise - like I now need to prepare another pack, let Jenny know about the foos reuirements but given the size of the event this is small beer really. ;)
  15. Burnerboy wrote:Well, given a following wind I should make it back in the TR7 in time for the setting up.... What have I just said!!! Good news Ginger, just make it back to Blighty old chap(pray)

    rover 75 seats

I think Rover 45 seats will fit - I am sure I have seen that someone has fitted them. I have a pair of Rover 220 seats in mine. I am using the Triumph rails but with plates to marry them up to the seats.
  17. Well I still have the route but talking of budgies ;D - a little bird has told me the route outbound is pretty close to the 2003 route anyway(dance) I am sure a dip in the Med can/should be arranged and the Speedos are on standby 8)
  18. ajp wrote: Not so sure about "buying"  ;)taking away then making an offer?!! ;) but yes would be a bloody laugh to get the bus there again 2013 Can it be arranged for it to need a new spark plug every 200 miles? ;D Regarding where to have a re-union. Well as I am not responsible for the route I can't say but the whole event for me with anywhere relevant to 2003 if possible. Starting with the ferry?
  19. How about a 2003 re-union - on the 2013 10CR 8) Original entrants from back in the day 1 Martin Randle  Mat Wilkinson TR7 2 Tim Hunt Mark Irwing TR4A 3 Andrew Pearce Ben Hobson 2500 4  Ellis Stokes  Keith Compton-Bishop TR7 Sprint 5  Tim Bancroft Richard Arthurs GT6 6  Doug Crutchfield Mary Crutchfield TR2 7  David Walker Carrie Walker 2500 8  Quentin Birkinshaw Mark Brady Dolomite 1500 HL 9  Mike Sloan Kate Sloan TR4 10 Graham Reeks  Andy McDonald 2000 11 Jason Chinn Dave Pearson Stretch Herald 12  Barry McGrath Dean Martin Acclaim 13  Doug Foreman Colin Jenner GT6 14 Andy Johnson Sarah Johnson Herald 1200 (The famous White Tornado) 15  Andy Flexney Paul Darbyshire TR3A (The famous Yellow Missile) Last minute addition at the Plough!  Don Cook GT6
  20. Deana and I have put all the packs together today so it's all getting very real now. Marshalls, I have sent an email to you  ;)
  21. 12 months now ;) Well, near enough. I was watching the opening episode from the Persuaders last night and that was the kind of TV programme that made me want to drive those roads. A TR7 looks like a Ferrari anyway(naughty)
  22. Just spoken to Dan at Performance and Protection - what a great bloke! He is going to give me a gate key so we can come and go as we please for setting up etc. (clap)
  23. michael_charlton wrote:I understand Martin has finished any welding on his car.......known as Raiders Last Arc  :B You don't improve much Mike but I am sure I can whip you into shape ;D Meanwhile, the rally plates have arrived and Deana and I will be putting the rally packs together for all 8 cars this weekend.
  24. Good man. I have spent this afternoon getting all the timing right for the tests - hopefully! Then producing the test sheets for the entrants and marshalls. Results spreadsheet created and I think it works ;D 2 stop watches bought too! We'll be getting ready with the cones etc on the Saturday afternoon and then having a get together/marshalls briefing (and anyone else who is there) as well as a meal at the OST. Or at least that's the current plan :)

Very interesting replies there - and a variety too. Thanks for the specific advice as well. I'll print this thread and refer to it when I work on the engine again next Saturday.
