It would be a great basis for a 4WD project that I am happy to donate the gearboxes and an engine for. But - I can't do this myself - everything I have is going into the TR7 rally plans (Project Manx 2010)

And now RBRR 2002. We used both of my cars - a Vitesse and the TR7. I spun the TR7 off the road at Oswestry, broke a valve spring on the Vitesse on Dartmoor and drove it back to the Plough on 5 cylinders before it came to a complete halt on the M1. You can see the TR pulling away to get to our hotel whilst I waited with the Vitesse for the recovery truck This was the weekend when I decided the TR7 really was "the shape of things to some" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=XtlAsoJredc

Here's a video I ahve just "digitised" of the first RBRR I did - in 2000. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=MdPj_y4ch5g

Tim provided postcodes for all of the stops last time precisely so that Tom Toms etc could be used. I didn't need the roadbook or the TOM TOM to find my way as it was my 4th run in 2006 It was very good tho for giving an ETA and warning of "safety cameras" as Tim said

Ben's story from 2003 - co-driver with Andy Pearce in the Big Red Bus
-
Because it's an easier route for anyone interested in the 10CR to pick up all 10CR stories/articles here than search through back issues of the magazine. They could all be attached to the 10CR part of the website though to achieve the same result.
-
And now Don Cook's Gt6 tells it's story!

Andy Pearce's article on the 2003 10CR

Part 3 - final one from me. Andy Pearce next ;)

Part 2 More to follow from myself and others ;)

Here's a place to post articles on the 10CR that have been written but could get lost in the depths of time. Please don't post articles until they have been published in Club torque tho ;) To start this off, here's part 1 of my write up on the 2003 10CR

Theo - I think there's a conversion to fit Ford (Sierra?) bearings to replace the rubber top mounts. That's if I am thinking of the right bit of course. I suggest you contact S&S Preps who are happy to give advice (and sell you something occasionally)

I know, I know - I hang ny head in shame :B The thing is though, at the time I wasn't being very succesful in getting the damn thing to run so I thought I would reclaim the tax - at least I got £27.50 back :)
-
Thanks Barry but I have a daughter to drop off at my sisters and make a call at the in-laws1 I'll see you there. Oh, I will be in an Audi as well! ;)
-
:B err, no. I have taken mine off the road for the winter (cringe, cringe, ducking to avoid the brickbats).::) Have you thought about me welding on a new roof panel on to my 7, you donating your sprint engine into it and us getting Andy to drive it on this new RAC event as a Club Triumph entry? No, neither have I! ;D
-
At the request of a mate of mine here is a final reminder. All Club members are welcome to a gathering of 10CR veterans (!), but beware, if you weren't on the 10CR - you won't get a word in edge ways! Location etc as below - first arrivals will be about 12PM for lunch. Quote:the Neville Arms in Medbourne is great. It's between Market Harbrough (Leics.) and Uppingham (Rutland) on the B664. 8) 8) 8)

::) Does it involve swimming at all? Maybe this discussion should transfer to another board (as in a drive in Wales not swimwear). Might be up for it or partly anyway - just depends on how the car is and what I have on at the time (Whether I am busy, not swimwear!). Anyway, you are a fine one to talk Timbo - didn't see you exposing your manly body to the elements! ;D ;D ;D

:P If you'll give a fighting chance I'll write a report, press release and just about anything else I can think of. In the meantime Andy, please include the fact that this was originally a private proving run to gain info for a future Club triumph event - it just got a bit out of hand. It has now been adopted and will run in the year's when there isn't a RBR. Stick any photo you like on there providing the person who took it hasn't got a problem with you using it. You could also say anyone interested in the 2005 future event can contact CT's Copmetitons sec (that's me by the way!). Oh - one other thing - I would recommend anyone interested should do the Round Britain Run first.
-
:) Yes, the 10CR is now an official Club Triumph Event! The 2005 run will still be organised mainly by myself but any assistance will be more than welcome! Ideas, suggestions more than welcome. Martin
