  1. PMW  is now back and under our car port. I  will check it out this weekend but apparently the delivery guy started it up no problem and drove it off the street and Deana said the engine sounded just fine. It looks like the front valence had also been pulled out a bit too.
  2. It might be Mike but I have now received a settlement cheque (pun intended ) in the post this morning. When the car is back and I am fully satisfied everything is good I will email Peter James my appreciation along with some comments on how things might be improved too. I'll also  let them know I will write an article for the magazine relating my experience and general satisfaction. But that will be after all those chickens have been counted
  3. PMW should be returned to my house by this time next week 🙂 Still not counting chickens (or boars)
  4. I am sure I can work my way through the process. I only need it for the next 10CR! I don't mind any record of the car c either as it would be a feature of the car's history
  5. My understanding is that it will be  a cat C. What's the difference?
  6. In discussion / negotiations with the insurance company to repair the car myself and have it brought home They want to declare it a total loss
  7. Last text I had from him was that he was on the ferry to Hull
  8. According to a few texts I have received Mike Charlton had fixed his Spitfire and was on the way back last night 🙂
  9. Yes. The driver at the time said there were 3 boars. I  am wondering if one went down each side as well as the one that hit the front
  10. Latest is that ad of yesterday the car is in a yard in Brentwood. Next step is am insurance assessors visit
  11. First - glad the car is back. There wasn't a Mk2 2000 registered PMW  with it was there Brakes - check if there is any fluid in chamber. If not then there is a leak somewhere. A brake pipe ripped off or joint broken during the recovery ? Check to see if there is lots of brake fluid somewhere and that will lead to the problem
  12. Hey that's great. I  am in Madrid for a business meeting and can't chase things up so it's great we have CT spies all over Europe 🙂
  13. When I had my little problem I did use the entrants list and rang Dale because I knew he was running a MK2 2000. Unlikely that anyone would be carrying a radiator mind you but worth trying. The thing is though, Mike is right in that the option I had was to ring everyone on the entry list who was in a 2000/2500. We would need someone to take on the task though of compiling such a list There was less chat on here before the event though than in previous years and I can't recall the spares list coming up. Maybe we have all become a bit blase'
  14. Is that Kris Schoupe team 83 listed as being in a 2500S estate? Or Chris Hooper team 84 in a 2000 MK1?
  15. Now I see the confusion about the location I was told Brentwood but originally typed Brentford Hope I get it right when the car is back
  16. Google says Brentwood is in Essex Still, wherever it is I will indeed give my friends down there a shout for help if needed and it's much appreciated.
  17. Been told today that it will be back in the UK around October 1st at a location in Brentford.  The insurance company will then contact me about what happens next. I reckon Essex is better than the Czech Republic for me to make sure the car is saved one way or another 🙂
  18. Oh yes I can relate to that. I am writing an article for Club Torque. Basically hours of not quite knowing what was going to happen, being stuck in a bar in a bowling alley in PLzen in the Czech Republic before finally getting sorted. No hire car available at Dover when we got back as it was the weekend - clearly as Dover is the major port into the UK for ferries it's not necessary to have hire cars avaialbe at the weekend Sounds like you had quite an experience there though even more "interesting" than ours
  19. Thanks Andy. I have all kinds of offers of assistance coming at me right now which is great. I'll keep this one in mind too for when I hear from the insurance. I have a pun which I am holding on to by the way
  20. I am writing an article for Club Torque as we speak and had just reached that point. Strangely the thought never entered my head I do wonder what I might find under the car though
  21. Glad you made it all the way round guys especially after an epic effort to get the car ready
  22. Yes Colin, as well as a radiator. Thanks in advance and we will see what the insurance company say when it gets back but good to know I have this offer. In the meantime here are some pics but we forgot to take any of the radiator - you'll just have to imagine the 1" hole pounched in it
  23. As many will know our 10CR was brought to an end when we hit 3 wild boar in the Czech Republic 😲 The front of PMW, my Mk2 2000 was pushed in and the radiator shoved into the front pulley resulting in all the water pouring out. The radiator itself had a large hole punched into it and was also only holding on with the two top bolts. The car is still in the Czech Republic awaiting repatriation. It's not been easy dealing with the various companies but we have had a hire car to get us back to Dover, a taxi from there to the ferry all for free. Then foot passenger tickets, a taxi fair to Surrey, plus tube and train fares to get me home, all covered by my policy with Peter James Insurance so a big thanks to them. It's not all over yet though and I will be glad to see the car back home when they will then get an assessor out to decide what happens next. If you are ever in this unfortunate situation my experience so far is that you will experience alot of delays and frustration with times when you feel very abandoned! Abandoned that is, apart from the tremendous moral support from your Club Triumph mates - cheers everyone
