  1. The entry form is available here - a princely £10 entry fee! http://www.club.triumph.org.uk/clubtriumph/competitions/blytonautosoloentryform
  2. First table now available and it's the Co-drivers. No point in the Driver's as there is only one name in it so far
  3. Just paid for the weekend so will be looking to do the Autosolo too In our TR7 convertible at elast if any of Triumphs will co-operate anyway.
  4. Thanks Dave - preparing for the worst then and hoping for the best
  5. Picked up?  Sorry Dave, I am not that knowledgable so can you explain what that means?
  6. All good points. Ferny, I have had a payout by the insurance company for me to fix the car myself so I am happy enough with that. Mike, yes we ran it for a few miles (!) to reach a town and by the end it was pinking badly, had no water in it and coasted into a parking space in the centre of Plana - then it wouldn't restart.  I'd say there's a very good chance this is where the damage happened. Since then it's just been a case of getting into a position where I could refit a radiator and run it on tickover back here.
  7. I built this engine with a reground crank, lightened flywheel, GT6 cam etc and all it has done is the mileage to the Czech Republic Diring that drive it went very well, nice and smooth whilst being quite lively for a 2 litre I am planning just the headgasket and maybe a head skim - unless more problems are revealed
  8. That's what I  thought. Those wild boar have a lot to answer for
  9. Yup that's what I think too but I am fed up of working on cars, I want to drive them Nick, I have just whipped the plugs out and they all look the same.
  10. I thought about you Graham trying to persuadde a German policeman all would be well if you oculd get onto the Autobahn
  11. Well the top hose and the radiator now get hot. Unfortunately coolant level in the radiator drops after a few minutes running, the oil is a very light colour and thin whilst the emissions from the exhaust are very enthusiastic! See video here https://youtu.be/Acs5TfDUs_4 I think I know very well what the problem is but comments are welcome
  12. I am thinking about this but ........... I will have been to a Rover event a couple of weeks before It looks like the head gasket has gone on my 2000 plus the wheel arch repair panel I have on order for it hasn't arrived so there's very little chance of the car being roadworthy anytime soon. There's no diff in the 2000 as it is away for reconditioning The TR7 convertible needs taxing and putting on the road I will be attending the North Yorkshire Triumph Weekend 3rd weekend in May. First weekend in June I have entered the Ecosse Challenge. Not many demands on my time and money then
  13. My 2000 that was assaulted by wild boar 🙁 now has a new radiator back on along with electric fan. Thing is though, on running it up the engine gets hot but the radiator doesn't (I have put water in it 😀 - water/antifreeze mix to follow in due course). The rubber hoses to heat the inlet manifold are hot as is the thermostat cover but the top hose is getting miildly warm at best. My best guess is the thermostat has gone on strike after 6 months of not doing anything or there's an airlock. Suggestions before I return to this in two weeks time?
  14. Good to see the results up here but for me to award points in the various categories could the car type and registration numbers be given to me please? Also the CT Area that people belong to would be helpful. Thanks
  15. And I will be there looking to do the Autosolo as well as enjoy the rest  of the weekend 🙂
  16. If there is RBRR commemorative clothing etc for crews could  that be made available to marshals too please. Yes I am being selfish here but Phil Charlton did a great job at Carter Bar last time by all accounts  so it would be good if us marshals got a chance too

    Sump off

Thanks for all the tips chaps. Should be able to sort it now

    Sump off

Is it possible to take the sump off whilst the engine is still in the car? I have tried and am struggling at the moment 🤔
  19. Just posted off an order for a wheel arch repair panel due to the 10CR incident!
  20. I have now found damage to the spare wheel well as it looks like one of the boars went all the way under the  car. Our third crew member was in the back of the car and says he felt the back of the car lift off the ground 😀
  21. Pigtures of the damage You can just see where the radiator has a pulley nut sized hole in it where it was puched back in the impact. On the others it's clear someone has pulled the front panel back out.
  22. It was a trick of the light as you thought Nick. I will see if I can get some photos up on here later after I have had a good look.
