  1. mk3 are a different width to mk4/1500, but the same as the earlier roundtails
  2. Have you checked the pin on the right side of the bellhousing that hold the clutch arm in place they can fall out
  3. My MK2 exits in the centre then the pipe goes towards the nearside (RHD) and down through the boot floor. That tank exit is correct but the pipe is exiting in the wrong place.
  4. That should be a metal pipe the exits through a hole in the floor and then joins to another metal pipe under the nearside

    Spit Mk3 seats

There is a guy on ebay Classicbritishsportscartrims who does the covers. I think he also advertises in the Courier (TSSC). I have never used him but have read some good reports for Herald seats. Might be worth a call. Let us knoe as my mk2 seats are now getting a bit tired (original)

    Spit Mk3 seats

does he do spit mk3 stuff. I know he was prototyping door cards a few years back as I had some boards to reback my originals but not sure about seats. But Owen is very helpful and knowledgeable just not sure how many pre mk4 cars he has done.
  7. certainly possible. I have a mk2 with a 1500 engine and 3 rail od box. I just had to drill the bolt holes on the original flywheel to take the larger bolts. It's been like that since about 1994 so it certainly works fine, thogh the clutch will wear faster than the 1500s.
  8. Canleys do what the call a recondioned one for 12.75 or new ones for more

    Pistons

Some of the 1147 engines used press fit pistons( no circlips and have to be pressed onto conrod), they also had different conrods. My spit mk11 engine has them. I would suggest you get the correct type for your engine. Mine is in bits and as the press fit ones are unavailable I have obtained a set of the full floating type con rods for if I ever get around to replacing the current 1500 engine
