  1. Tim, as Pimperne is 5 minutes from my home I'll do some research about the Cricket Club there.  They have they're own hall for refreshments, plenty of land and it's nearer to the main road.  I just need to check how much formal parking space they can provide by the hall.   I'll follow up other options as well. Nick
  2. It was my first time marshalling and was surprised how much I enjoyed it.  Mind you I was chatting to James Cooper for about 90 minutes so we had plenty to discuss.
  3. The issue at Sixpenny Handley was that we had to get a load of footballer's cars moved in order to clear a space for the RBRR cars, so most drivers wouldn't be aware of the difficulty.  The access road did get blocked up at one point due to lack of space but I think we got away with it overall.   There was also a right herbert in a Noble of all things who turned up to spectate and generally got in the way! Good fun though.
  4. At Sixpenny Handley, the people out if it were 4, 5, 23, 27, 35, 56, 68, 72, 82 and 88. Car 3 was running about 2 hours late due to welding repairs in Cornwall but was still in it.   Car 113 turned up at Sixpenny Handley so didn't retire. Nick (Marshall at Sixpenny Handley)
  5. Mark and Andy arrived at Sixpenny Handley about 5pm and departed again 5 minutes later.
  6. PLL's past attendance is part of the RBRR for me.   I've done 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006 and 2008 so far and it's always been on the run.   PLL was the inspiration for my own Mk2 saloon, although not in the same league, and Tim Bancroft's GT6 was the inspiration for my own GT6 Mk2. Hopefully if I ever do an RBRR again PLL will be back.
  7. I can't remember an RBRR when Nigel Gair's excellent Mk2 2000 saloon wasn't taking part.  What has happened to the car this year? [ i tried to pm nigel but i couldn't find his name on the forum - is he on here? ] Nick
  8. Ricaro's from a Rover 800 Vitesses in mine but they sit too high up for my liking.  One day I'll change them.
  9. Don't worry I'm not going to touch it, but I'll either blank off the hole the other side or get another bolt to fit.  Either way I can't have a hole in my wheel arch.
  10. Thanks for that.  You learn something everyday. Nick
  11. Spotted on my GT6 Mk2 inner wheel arch is this large bolt/nut but it's missing from the other side.  What does it do and should I just blank off the other side where it's missing? Thanks Nick
  12. What about some sort of acid dip like Surface Processing offer?  I've heard mixed reviews about them but they do strip parts as well as whole cars.
  13. Thanks Tim.   I'm not sure I need it though.  Looking at another GT6 Mk2 is seems that it only had the fuel tank and spare wheel boards, so the board I'm referring to see looks to be an optional extended luggage area?   Perhaps that was an alternative extra to the occasional rear seat? I need to see what the options are and decide what I want.   Nick
  14. Yes, no.8.   I'm not sure I want the rear seat fitted, as it's next to useless and would be a bit of extra weight removed.   I could make a board easy enough I suppose.
  15. If you have the occasional rear seat, do you still need front luggage board (710702). i.e. the 3rd board that complements the fuel tank and spare wheel boards?  See diagram below - item 8 I have a rear seat but can't find the front luggage board, so I'm wondering if the car never had one. Nick
  16. Did you prime it before using heat resistant paint? Thanks WIMPUS
  17. If you paint it black, won't it be difficult to see any potential oil leaks?  Just a thought. More importantly, how do you prep the engine and do you need special paint for engines?
  18. You don't have to contend with EU reg's, Health & Safety madness, Politcal Correctness etc.    All it takes is one whiff of risk or a nimby and nothing happens in this country!   All the more reason for blasting up Zig-Zag Hill and blowing some cobwebs out of some peoples brains IMHO  :P
  19. Why top and bottom?    It's not as if we'd be able to close the road and use it as our hill climb.  Nice thought though .....
  20. It looks great Blue but how long did it take you to pull it all apart and get it back together again?
  21. Mine seems to be in good condition (i.e. little rust and no breakages) so what needs doing to it by way of refurbishment?   My main concern is long-term rust prevention, but while it's out I obviously want to get it looking presentable as well. Is it necessary to take it apart or can I just wire brush it and paint 'as is'. Thanks Nick
