  1. You could always do what Renault did on the later 5 GT Turbo. Fit a cooling fan blow air onto the carburettor.
  2. I did one with the RX8 Owners club last year and it was a huge laugh. A very good day out and I would recommend it to anyone
  3. I remember those Kits! they used to sell them in the Marshall Ward catalogue
  4. Looks like the Chinese cloning fraternity have moved on to carbs. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3219.....e=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Anyone had any experience of these yet? The seller has a nice selection of carbs listed, some quite hard to find
  5. Do you have the carb make and model? You mention Fuel injection as well, so I'm a little confused
  6. Got a mate dropping off some Smart roadster leather seats next weekend so watch this space Which RX7 do you mean? FB (70/80)s, FC late 80s-mid 90s), or FD (mid 90s-00)? StreetKa seats look like the may fit as well
  7. Had the seats out of My RX8 today and can say that no amount of fettling will make them to fit in a spitfire in such a way that you can:- A. Put the roof on B. Be able to drive the car
  8. strip the dash and replace with some nice Smiths Magnolia Dials. Seats need replacing with something more period. Steering wheel needs to be wooden and large
  9. I like it.... certainly has potential. The interior and wheels need some de-modernising
  10. Sorted thanks In case anyone else needs them they are here:- http://ccts-inc.com/SPITFIRE/Dash%20Templates.htm Obviously they will need to be mirrored for RHD
  11. Before I spend time drawing these up myself, does anyone have a template for the 3 wood panels that make up the Dashboard in a MKIV spitfire? Preferably in digital format File type is unimportant, as long as the dimensions are correct
  12. I believe they are the same! Im sure one of or more learned members will chip in shortly. If they are different, drop me a PM, I have one in the shed
  13. Thanks for the responses guys! Will order some Cobalt drill bits

  15. Hi guys Can you recommend me a spot weld removal tool suitable fro removing the rear wings on a spitfire?

  17. Did you get any further with this?
  18. Thanks for the offer.... I bought one from the tssc shop in the end However I do want to remove the body tub from mine in the near future so a 2nd one might be useful I'll drop you a PM to discuss

  20. Just had a chat with one of my rotary guys and the 5 Speed Prop is steel and is a straight swap for the Carbon on the 6Spd, so might be easier to work with.  Good thing is the second hand spares for the 8 are plentiful and quite cheap.   A fresh built engine from one of the specialists would be about £3.5K tho I'll keep my eyes open for a good used one Gearbox should be about 150 Where abouts are you in the UK?  There's a couple of places I can recommend for second hand spares etc. As you mentioned Apex Rotary I'm guessing you are around the Surrey area.
  21. Sorry yes I mean prop shaft. The prop on an rx8 is carbon fibre and it looks like the ujs on each end are bonded into the tube. I think if you can get it out of one end you should be able to rebond it somehow, although working with composites other than a bit of glass fibre is beyond my skill set lol Next time I am under my rx8 I'll take some pics for you.
  22. Looks like its coming along nicely What will you do about a driveshaft? The RX8 Shaft is carbon fibre and will according to my calculations be too long
  23. I only have a finite amount of time to do these things (I have a full time job and a family) so sometimes it makes sense to buy in something ready made and knowing it will work first time rather saving a few pounds fabricating my own parts. As for the inner sills.... Looks good so far :0 We have a USB endoscope so drilled a few holes in the knackered sill and had a look inside
