Roadside Fixes
Colin Cutts replied to yorkshire_spam's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
It would be nice to find out what percentage of cars arrived back at Knebworth by model ie if 4 tr7 started out and only 3 finished that would equate to 75 percent or is this being a bit nit picking -

Colin Cutts replied to McJim's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
2 litre tr7 home to home 2281 miles 63.27gals which in my reckoning is 36.05 mpg and really had to boot the old girl to make up a little bit of lost time -
I fitted l e d headlight bulbs just before the RBRR then had them checked at the mot station they said they were ok but notice a few cars coming in the opposite direction flashed me

No 120 we managed to finish despite having two tyre blowouts in the middle of nowhere used the spare but had to call out tyre service for second one nearest open tyre service Inverness 1 hour 45 minutes away two budget tyres plus fitting £480 lost a lot of time called into Gulf garage at skin falls for fuel then fetched the exhaust off exiting station refitted it but it was then a problem throughout the rest of the game refitting it four or five times missed three controllers but arrived at Knebworth on time first time we have entered this event but it was brilliant congratulations to everyone who finished and well done to the organisers -

Tr7 rust showing between rear wing and deck joint
Colin Cutts replied to Colin Cutts's topic in Body
Thanks for your comments it was in fact done by a very competent body work company who have had articles in sports car magazines . The owner is a hands on guy and is going to have a look at it in the spring I have every confidence he will sorte it -
After owing the car for over 18 years and bringing it up to a high standard touring in many countries in Europe I thought it was time for some else to enjoy it . I now have a tr7 which I have over the last twelve months improved and used ie nc500 I find this car to be much more comfortable for myself and my wife's old bones and were able to take more creature comforts with us when touring , I commend the 7 for anyone who wants a little more comfort and still have a most enjoyable drive

Had my 7 resprayed earlier this year and noticed a couple of weeks ago that the paint has cracked in the joint between wing and rear deck and is now showing signs of rust , what's the best cure for this ? Before the respray the small amount of rust in this area was treated to a localised blasting with a portable blasting gun and then primed . What's the solution if any
