franksm
Hey folksHow in God's name does one remove the oil transfer plate on the side of the Stag's engine ? Mine is leaking badly, so am in the process of replacing its O-rings.I have the oil filter removed, the exhaust downpipe remove, but can't get a socket onto the central bolt as the oil-pressure-sender is in the way. It is stuck fast. I'm in danger of rounding off one of those bits if I'm not careful. Is there a tried and tested method ? It's in a pig of a locationFrank
nibby
It can be done without removing anything. Its a while since Ive done this but have a selection of spanners of the same size but various lengths handy, put your hand on the bolt and find the best route down there. The worse you should come away with is bleeding knuckles. wakaday
Frank. Are you sure its not a crack in the plastic of your oil pressure switch that is leaking? The Transfer housing rarely gives any problems.
Dave w
Hi Frank, had oil pouring out, all it was the pessure switch but it was a right pig of a job to undo it, mines a auto had to take the dipstick/filler tube off so I could get a spanner on it.
