Ken M.
I've got a 1975 TR6 with an interesting problem. The car runs fine. However, when I turn off the car, and remove the key, the oil light comes on and stays on. The only way to turn it off is to disconnect the battery terminal.I see on the wiring diagram that there is a connection between the oil light and the brake fail switch, but I'm not sure what that means either.Any ideas? piman
Hello Ken,the dual circuit brake balance warning light is in series with the oil pressure switch and should be supplied with a white wire from the ignition switch and should be dead with the ignition off. This is used as a lamp check for the brake warning every time you start the car.It sounds as if that circuit is wrongly fed, have a look at the brake balance switch to see what wires you have there? What you don't want is a purple wire as that is permanently live?Alec
