Adam69
Good Morning Triumph owners I am new to the site and would like to ask a question regarding wheel sizes for my 1969 Herald 13/60 please ... I have just had some work done on her and have purchased some new wheels from RimmerBros , they are the 5.5 x 13J wide profile and wanted to ask can I go to 175 size without any body or part adjustments or is 165 the biggest ? Wendy Dawes
Hi Adam cant give you a definite answer but when I bought my Herald it had 175 tyres fitted to the original 4.5 j wheels, it ran and steered ok with no trouble or modifications, but on those narrower wheels they were too wide so I put 165 Tyres on. I believe that the 175 were fitted on the courier van with 5.5 j wheels so you should be ok apologies if I’m wrong Edited September 6, 2022 by Wendy Dawes

Rosbif
There are a number of sites that give the range of tyre widths for various wheel widths, they don't always agree. Here are 2 : https://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/tyre-equivalence-advice.html https://www.tyresizecalculator.com/tyre-wheel-calculators/tyre-size-for-rim-size-width-calculator
