Greeks
It's a long shot I'm sure, but are MK2 auto and manual props interchangeable?
Doig
Nope sorry,Overdrive and non overdrive manual boxes have the same prop Autos are different
Deleted User
Late cars with BW 65 boxes have the same prop as manual's Greeksy. The early cars (pre73) with BW 35 boxes have sliders at the front, you only need to change this for a normal flange, in all other respects they are identical. Greeks
Cheers ...So I could change the flange from the current prop. on the manual and fit it to the BW35 prop I have spare (400kms away) and refit to the car? That might be worth doing if the rumours of disintegration of my current prop are true :-)*goes off to look in manual and see what flange changing will involve*
Deleted User
It's just a u/j and flange swap. If you are really careful you can save the existing u/j (on either the flange, or the slider) and re-fit. There might be a balance issue though, you will have to just suck it and see. Deleted User
Hang on Greeksy I suffered early morning memory slip there, it's only the BW 65 auto prop that's interchangeable. If you take the plunging slider off the BW 35 then there's no slider!
Greeks
Oh crap it's too late now, i've ordered a courier to get it delivered here by midnight with a new UJ and I was planning on working through the night to fit it for the big trip! I'll have to get an oxy set and cut the hell out of it and weld a flange on to fit it now :-D... oh for a minute there I slipped back into RBRR preparation thoughts.Never mind i'll investigate alternatives.
