  1. Ouch my Subaru diff conversion including cv and machining of GT6 vertical links is nowhere near that cost even with a new diff ? Expensive !
  2. I'm sorry if my rant came over as insulting. It was not intended as such.  It was very frustrated comments after spending hours trying to find a solution to the problem of navigating the site. Thanks to the notes posted I have now managed to get an entry in and now appear as a Reserve as team 141.  I assume that if others above drop out we will move up and be asked for entry fees? I appreciate the organisers efforts in organisiing, and in no way wish that my comments will be judged as insulting - I'm just not that type of person.
  3. Hello Alex yes have checked junk mail - get messages from this site but nothing for new one - also if I want to get into my membership section on this site is it same sign in as forum details because that doesnt work either
  4. Good morning trying to sign into new site with sign in details from old one but no joy - try to do reset password but still no joy can someone please help before entry list fills up as I really want to do this
  5. I must say that despite being a club triumph member for a number of years I hadn’t enrolled on to the website. I thought that I had nothing better to do than to just load up the website, put in my details, membership no for enrolment onto the RBRR. How wrong I was and judging by the the other posts so was a lot of others. I wonder how many “rookies” managed to log into the mysterious new site and log, or is my cynicism getting the better of me and those that have participated before all managing to enrol again. Not a happy bunny.
  6. I may be in Europe at around the same time Howard, but could not get the dates off needed for the run. So will be doing my own 3 countries lol Rob
  7. I am a little confused, I know I and Neil McDonnell have withdrawn from the 10CR. Yet I am still shown as live? Regards Rob
  8. We have allocated leave periods, this falls out of that leave period, I was initially told to put it in with as much notice as possible which I did, the leave was initially approved however was knocked back from those in charge as its outside the leave period I have been allocated. As for human rights we don't count as humans we have no rights as we are not employed. We dont have a union we have no come back and the goverment change our terms and conditions and more recently our pension meaing I am working 10 years longer for 1/3 less pension and next to zero lump sum. Leaving many to leave the job and do anther carrer . I thought it was going to be different up in Scotland and for some things it better but mostly its going the way England and wales went meaning the job is well and truly fooked. I would say most of you will have more staff working at your local McDonnalds on a night shift than your local Police office. I have now made a slightly different application and hope to get that approved and if that goes through I will be doing my own run with a few friends. I have put a formal appeal to the man up high but I don't hold out any hope and to save messing withdrawn my entry. Rob
  9. Thats me out. Work cannot commit to let me have the time off. 12 months notice is not enough notice. At least someone else gets a shot. I will be doing my own run I am speaking to friends who may be interested in a 2017 trip to Europe. Rob
  10. how many entrants don;t do internet? I see that reserve list growing very fast indeed and with no room at the in no chance to increase the list.
  11. Sorted as work are being an ass about this. Cheers. Rob Just got the small matter of getting the car finished
  12. Just a quick one, My leave from work was denied when I amended it for the date change, so I will be booking this with the hope I get the leave. Work are being their usual crappy selves about me booking leave so far in advance and out of my allocated leave period. If I get the bad new that I cannot have this off I may be on the sick 😉 but in the unlikely event that I can't go is the entry fee returnable? Rob
  13. with the app it opens the entrants to 500+ with no issue think of that when fundraising. Rob
  14. Having spent a long time reading this thread I have to bow to the way this event is run, having taken part in it only three times and successfully completing it twice I can only speak from my little experience. The RBRR is a two day event and until the MSA or otherwise start making it difficult I see it continuing successfully. I have a suggestion and it will remain just that, for the organising and running of this superb event I can not see it changing anytime soon. My suggestion was to move it into the 22nd century and consider the building of an application for a phone or tablet. The idea is  to get rid of all the marshalled points replacing with a bar code or QR code https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code At the original check point, That way your entrant can start at any point for example Kinross and can take part in the 48 hour event finishing at Kinross taking in the same route in its entirety being paced by the application itself as times between checkpoints can be set and any the check in to any QR point cannot be done until the application has opened and closed that point at a set time depending where you start on the event. That way each entrant can start the run and finish the run without travelling to one point to do  the start. Just an idea and one I think could encourage an unlimited number of cars starting and participating in the event. The only downside  to the event is the removal of  the breakfast at Lands end and John'o'groats and other manned stops that serve cake etc. The refreshments could be left to each crew. The above is  all just a suggestion and not meant to offend anyone. Rob
  15. What another great read John, fab work again mate. Rob
  16. Then it seems I am on my own in that. The event is what it is, if the majority want the overnight runs then thats where the event goes. I prefer seeing the scenery when I drive, like driving through Scotland at night, its much better when you have something to look at, Rob
  17. Not the attitude I expected from you Martin, I see it as a safety issue, and not one of how much of a test a drive is, I have done the 10CR on three occasions and found driving over 24 hours to be a dangerous one, RBRR included. One which If I found someone having an accident due to lack of sleep in my job,  one which I would prosecute for in law.   I personally take part in the 10CR to enjoy the craic with fellow drivers, and a lot of my great 10CR memories are at hotels enjoying good food and beer with great company talking about the days driving. Singen Germany one meal I do look back in fondness off. However I will wait to see what 10CR 2017 offers! which ever way you decide to drive the event, I wish you safe driving. Rob
  18. I bought my set from Canleys and I am very happy with them, but have bought a few polybushes from James Paddock recently whist completing my conversion and both businesses supply Superflex . Rob
  19. Seriously buy new, is it really that much of an expense to buy them ? as it says above, safety first and at least you have peace of mind. Rob
  20. Yes Howard, look forward to seeing you both next year! As for dates I have been told The event will be 7-10th September. Rob
  21. Superb now have the days off for this event next year, confirmed this morning.
