  1. Wim, first of all shame on you for not cleaning your car after every drive  :P No seriously, are you using rubber bushes or poly? and silly question what type of squeaking is it? Rob
  2. Cheers Gaz, you know how much I like o fiddle with holes!  ;D ;D ;D
  3. So they bolt onto the GT6 but not the Spitfire?
  4. AlanChatterton wrote:2014................ just you wait, I'll be in a serious piece of kit! Pink organza evening gown with sequins and stilettos? Bugger to get oil off it afterwards, I would have thought! Cross-dressing in a Triumph, a new frontier in Triumph ownership. :) Jim.
  5. they do look a little BIG! would be interesting to see if they bolt on or how close they are
  6. Vented discs are readily available for the Spitfire/GT6. Has anyone tried this conversion?
  7. timbancroft61 wrote:Malcolm, Ok, will contact you in due course Rob, Why not enter using the Spitty? Tim, its a little difficult at the moment, I am still in a rental property and its now looking like I am going to self build, so time is a real bind for me. Hence the offer for Marshall and not taking part, I have done it 3 times now, two of those successfully. Its also quite a lot of cash on petrol, never mind its 880 miles to the start and back again for me. Rob
  8. I have had my tyres (firestones) fitted for 7 years now, no cracking but as you would expect wearing a little low now. They tend not to blow out unless they are really knackered. Rob
  9. That is one hell of a first post!! Welcome to the Club and Forum mate. Good luck with the car, run and fundraising. Rob
  10. Sorry, Just seen this thread, I will if needed step in, can I be a pain and ask for dates and locations as I will need to book time off work. Living in Perth means I can cover most Scotland locations , Edinburgh, Stirling, and possibly others. Rob
  11. just found this! http://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Restore-Classic-Car-Bodywork/dp/1845844114/ref=pd_rhf_dp_s_cp_1_1Y2N?ie=UTF8&refRID=1226AAJVF28RKTHBREYN

  13. Let me know Wim, I am back in Manchester in December so will need to know by then Rob

  15. yes I agree with Oli, and don't forget post pics and you will get more replies More info on your project! Rob
  16. There is one for the 1500 but its a little pants, I used it for reference only and it does not go into too much detail. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/251369840627?lpid=83&device=c&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=83 Rob
  17. Goody wrote:Though I admit I am trying to steal a couple of his marshal's to form a team for next years run.  I need a 4th mug to complete my set.  Exciting? Assume you have drunk all that funny yellow stuff.   An interesting offer but Tim is short of marshals up here in the land of shortbread, haggis, heather and worried sheep. Me in a car for 48hours is more of a challenge than driving 2000 miles. ;) And let's get this straight, I don't drink urine, I'm a Lambrini man. There, I've outed myself. Oh, bugger me! Oh, actually I'd prefer it if you didn't. :B Jim.
  18. Stud remover. A decent one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stud-Extractor-Remover-Set-6-8-10-12mm-manifold-exhaust-Stud-Extracting-Remover-/150999676976 and replace old with new. I have a set like the ones listed and never had a problem removing problem bolts or studs Rob
  19. Anyway, who's up for helping Tim out. He's a lonely, desperate fellow, with few friends but with a fantastic motoring adventure to organise. Come on now, don't be shy. :) Jim.
  20. Bill, You've made my point in that the RBRR is the place to meet people with a similar disposition to yourself for fun, new friends and maybe something more exciting. In your case, I'm still waiting for the maybe something more exciting. But I sit at home, alone in the dark and keep hoping. ;) Jim.
  21. And closed again. Looks like for the rest of the year. Night, night, Stelvio. Jim
  22. timbancroft61 wrote:McJim, The RBRR ain't a new form of hotdate.com or whatever they are called?! But Tim, I first met you on the RBRR! :) Jim.
  23. Wim, It can be posted next year when I post Shaun a few bits I promised him. So no postage!! Its only a month or so off Rob
  24. Gaz has a few pics of his car with MGF wheels on. But handling may be different Rob
