Cheers Colin Colin, I have a friend who has been looking for ages now, however with such short notice I am not sure if he can get the time off work. Ill give him a bell and ask. He is mature and no boy racer. Rob

  3. Get the 1500 carbs a whole lot better. I had 1500 carbs on my 1300 fab.

  6. Doug, remember pics of the conversion and then tales of how easy it was to encourage others to go EDIS.  ;) Rob
  7. Ill check mine this coming week but I have not bothered with any resistor. The same when I ran Megajolt 5 years without a resistor no issues. Rob
  8. My 2009 breakdown in the 10CR was covered by my insurance breakdown. No issues and comes with my cover.
  9. Someone on the last 10CR had a load of the plates made self adhesive if there is anyone doing that this year can I order a couple? Rob
  10. My Vitesse is fitted with AVO adjustable shocks front and rear. They seem to work well. The suspension is not standard, with 440lb springs on the front which are 1" shorter/lower than normal (sourced from Jigsaw). The rear spring is standard with a 1" lowering block. From memory, the AVO shocks have 17 settings from soft to firm. Adjustment is via a knurled knob. When I bought the car, the front was set to 8 and the rear 6. After experimenting, I have front set to 4 (from soft) and rear to 3 (again, from soft). The other part of the equation is 175/65x13 tyres running at 26F/28R pressure.
  11. [quote=thescrapman]Rob I think the last set Gaz sold have yet to be collected, perhaps not even paid for so perhaps there is scope for some gazumping... :-) [quote] If only, Gaz if he backs out give me a shout Rob

There was talk of a re-batch at Weller but they were no cheap at around 100 quid a rim when new. Occasionally turn up s/h on ebay now and then. I dont have any left and sold mine for 10CR petrol money.. ;) and ste will prob need a crow bar to sell his, I got a job lot of all of em NOS from a small racing car co in Leeds who used MGF hubs on their race cars then changed to Ford hubs and had a load of wheels left over. I like em, if any more come up mate give me a shout please Rob

  15. sparky_spit wrote: You want to get there early morning, anytime before 9 or 10am.  I managed 3 or 4 decent laps in the Scooby before the traffic got a bit heavier. Any later and it's like you say, very busy and very slow. If it is busy just back everyone up behind you by crawling down to Mirabeau and then you can blast round Loews and Portier and through the tunnel. There does not seem to be any cameras about - or I didn't see any anyway... its a plan, lets get there early :)
  16. beans wrote:Satnav clearly wants to tell me something too. It refuses point blank to navigate into Monaco  ??) went there two years ago on my motorcycle, mad mad busy! no really really busy. Took  an age to get in and longer to get out. But it was fab. However the drive there and back made it worth it! Rob
  17. in all the years I ran carbs I have never had a pin hole in the floats in fact I have never had a problem with any floats of any carbs. (I must be very lucky) I have had flooding carbs though, it normally comes when the car has not been run for a few weeks or months and I found the fuel had evaporated and left a sticky residue on the needle valve. A quick clean of the needle valve and when its in plate a few taps with my finger to the bottom of the valve to seat the valve on the carb usually sorts the problem. As Gaz says too much pressure can cause a problem but normal psi from a basic pump won't do it, a electric pump needs a regulator. If you want one I have one. Rob http://sucarb.co.uk/hs-stayup-float-kit-hs2-hs4-hs6-small-bore-needle-valve.html PS needle valves cheaper from Canleys
  18. I wish I had known I have a new pair of GT6 solid discs you could have used.
