  1. Car 85 - Help needed. My friend who is doing the first RBRR for the first time is having a few issues with his Vitesse Convertible. 1st Issue. Gearbox has packed up.  However, he hasn't given up. Car is in the garage to have the gearbox reconditioned/replaced. 2nd Issue. Seats are a little bit knackered and being original don't recline. I know this is a VERY long shot, but has anyone (who lives near the Kent or Essex area) got a spare reclining seat (we only need one for the passenger side) that will fit a Vitesse Convertible that he could borrow for the RBBR?

It took me about 90 mins but I was also cooking chicken on a BBQ as well. Probably less than 1 hour to fit. Even without the tune she is running better now.
  3. Thanks guys, will reconnect it tonight. Cars booked in on Friday for rolling road tune. Can't wait to see what the difference will be once she has been properly set up.
  4. Just think, the more carbon there is in the air, the more plants and trees grow, so we are helping environment become greener ;-)
  5. Hi I've just replaced my distributor with a 123 tune distributor. Before I had my vacuum pipe removed as I was told it was not needed on my set up of K&N air filters with stub stacks. However, now I've got a programmable 123 distributor fitted should I refit my vacuum pipe before going to a rolling road to get it set up? Thanks
  6. Hi rob I emailed you my list this morning. Let me know if you didn't get it.

  8. Car 17 Had a really productive weekend. Inbetween taking kids to football, the Olympics and visiting the beer festival organised by our village cricket club :-) I managed to: Fix my Overdrive which was down to a faulty switch Fit new rear speakers so will have some tunes. Sort out my headlamp relays Fit a new 123 distributor and cleaned the spark plugs whilst I was at it. Car is running sweet now. Jobs left to do are: Get tune done after fitting distributor Fix roof studs as a couple have come off Sort Interior lights Fit aerial Change Oil Top up Diff Oil Clean car and put some miles on her.
  9. Car 17 After months off the road my Spitfire is up and running. Although she did break down on the way to and back from the Essex area meet last Wednesday. Faulty new condensor seemed to be the problem. Jobs i need to do before the RBRR start are: Change distributor Change starter solenoid Change overdrive switch (hopefully that will get the overdrive working again!) change speakers Fit aerial Get tune done after fitting distributor Clean car and put some miles on her. Hopefully I will have this done before the drivers meet, as I don't want to repeat last year when I was working on her at the Plough one hour after everybody had left!
  10. Hi Can anyone recomend some reclining seats from a modern car that can be picked up cheap on ebay cheaply that will fit a Vitesse convertible wiothout having to do major work? Basically we would only want to put them in temporarily for the RBBR. Thanks Paul
