  1. I bent one of my hubs many years ago, using the wrong type of puller. Never noticed until a lorry driver sain my back wheel was wobbling. Swapped wheels and still wobbling. Sourced a good second hand one and brought the correct puller. Danny
  2. I've also been told that if a door is re-Skined it can mishap the door if not done right. I know my drivers door on the spit was done before I took ownership through the history file, and that sticks out a little at the bottom. Danny
  3. I like a bit uf suspense 😋

    Best adhesive...

I used the double sided tape used on number plates. That stays put,. Danny
  5. I also fitted the same. Easy to fit and made a big difference to the staring. Danny
  6. I 2nd that. A very enjoyable day. Had my tracking checked and adjusted, helped out on a couple of cars. Met some nice people and a good selection of cars. Hope to go to the next one. Danny
  7. I'll be there. No damper but like to see your contraption and of course you. Danny😊
  8. Wendy, Is this it. Pm me your address and I'll put it in the post. Danny
  9. As above you can find out which tapes are making noise. I found a Click Dial adjuster pretty good. You may have a cam follower noise also. Danny
  10. I had a problem with the ballast wire that had gone high resistant. So i just took a new feed fron the ignition live and fitted a 12v coil. Remember to fit the coil the correct way round +ve - ve. It will run the wrong polarity but will give misfire later when get hot. Danny
  11. With a volt meter set on ohms. Ballast should read approx 1.5 and non ballast 3 ohms. Danny
  12. I'm sure I wouldn't have thrown it away so if I find it you most welcomed to it. Dannny
  13. Is it the pointy bit thats in the middle. I may have one. I know I have the badge and the two bits of grill somewhere in the garage, not sure about the pointy bit. I'm on hols at the moment but will check when back. Danny
  14. Peter see replies to your previous post asking for recommendations. Danny
  15. mike.papworth1@btopenworld.com Mike pepworth is the guy. Highly recommend Danny
  16. 1 a small copper round bar fits flate inside oblong hole with a spring and plastic cap on top. This is the side the indicator contacts sit. 2 spring with plastic caps both ends. 3 funny looking plastic half round thingy with point one end. Point downwards with spring and plastic caps on top. 4 ball bearing (this is what locks indicator stalk when operated. The thicker spring goes on top. I hope this will help anyone that decides to remove the indicator switch from the back plate and things start popping out. Work somewhere you are not going to lose the bits. Have fun. Danny
  17. New indicator stalk arrived from Anglia Triumph after the first one ordered got lost in the post. But ANG Triumph kindly sent me another. Looks exactly like the old one. Same markings etc, maybe nos. Being left hand I had to convert it to right hand by using the old backplate. Beware when doing this as bits do pop out, springs, ball bearing and plastic bits etc. Took me about half hour to work out exactly where everything went, and at the time thinking I wished I never started. But it all went back OK and everything works. Danny
  18. This is Forum is for Triumph cars, not bikes. Although some cars do have rust holes that let you put your feet on the ground. 😁 Danny
  19. I'll see what the new one looks like when it arrives. It did say it was made in UK but that night be the box in comes in. If it looks inferior to my brocken original then I'll send it back. Danny
  20. Decided to try and fix late Spit indicator/horn/headlight stalk. It was sticking on when flashing. Tried lubricating without any luck so decided to remove it from the metal support bracket. Ping.... It turned into a million pieces 😂. No chance of getting it back together. It seems new right hand stalks are hard to get unless you want to pay over £50. Just ordered a new left handed stalk fro SC spares £30. They say it could be changed over to right hand by using old backing plate. I'm just a bit worried it will also disintegrate when swapping over. Although looking at the bits on the bench it looks like there are plastic plugs that hold all the springs and contacts in place but had disintegrated on mine. Anyone done this on a left hand stalk. Ps.. My garage is 20 deg cooler than outside so spending most of the day in there. Danny
  21. Yeah I agree. Sometimes I get these urges come over me... What to mess around with next. Danny
  22. I was looking at the Revington TR device and if it was worth it on a 1500 o/d Spit. I know 3rd od is almost the same as 4 gear butt 2nd gear and 2nd od may be worth it. I wonder how it let's od in on 2nd gear but still blocks 1st gear as the inhibitor switch on the box blocks both gears. I understand the TRs have a better spread of ratio's. Anyone had any experience of these. Danny
  23. My local garage who service my modern took it for me. I had a couple of old 20 ltr red diesel containers. I didn't want to mess with all that petrol 8.5 gals I was lust glad to get shot of it. I did womder what the company's do with fuel they pump out of cars every day. It must be used somehow. Danny
  24. Yes Tim. I can't fault them, for the service they provide, that's why I've been insured with them for the last 18 years. Danny
  25. I've now got to find a way to dispose of 8 gal of fuel. I'll have a word with local garage. Danny
