  5. COPY OF REG POSTING hi ade and steve, no offence taken, straight talking just the way i like it ! the only reason i carried on with the 7/8th wing & price, was simply because that is what everyone that has placed an order, has paid for, but now we have cheaper alternatives, orders will change im guessing, and dont forget the 7/8 wing did start out as a half wing, its only because i did a deal with the old manufacturer that the half wing changed to the 7/8 wing. just read your pm ade, no problem at all, AND WITH ALL CHANGED ORDERS, I WILL MAKE ANY MONETARY DIFFERENCES KNOWN OR REFUNDED, AT THE TIME OF ORDER PLACEMENT, AND TALKING OF WHICH, i am still awaiting conformation from some that have ordered for 7/8th wings on what varient of panel they require, can you please let me know so i can place the order with the manufacturer, many thanks.
  6. hi all, i've finally had the 7/8th mk2 front wing price and it is £470. sorry about the increase, but it's out of my hands. for those of you that have placed an order, can you please let me know which varient of panel you want, once i have heard from you all, i can place the order. many thanks lloyd

  10. sorry ted, i uploaded all the pic's, and all seemed ok, but when the post was posted, there was nothing there, picture wise, so i deleted it all, and having the same problem on the register. clearly something not compatible ????? any ideas anyone ?
  11. just to let you know that i will be posting pics next week of some of the proposed repair panels, allowing you too see clearly what they will be. thanks to richard brake i now have the n/s/r mk1 & o/s/r mk2 that i needed, but i still need the o/s/f mk2 and the mk1 lower front valance AND i NOW need outer wheel arch bowls, the chap i was buying them from text me yesterday to say he had decided to keep them for use on his cars,  although do have the n/s/f one already. to refresh, along with all the panels i already had, the old manufacturer was supplying me with anything else i needed, but as they were impossible to deal with, i lost that supply of panels, and to make thigs worse, i was offered panels from other owners but didnt grab them thinking i already had everything via the old manufacturer, oh for the want of a crystal ball !!!! tim, estate is still as you saw it, once the panels are underway and i have a bit more time, hopefully i can crack on with it dion, i dusted of " the list " last week, and you are on there, i shall try and contact all that are on there when i get 5 mins to let them know things are moving ahead. dave, will do boyo, look forward to seeing you at stoneleigh 🙂 onwards and upwards !!

  15. hi all, hope you all had a fab xmas. just recieved an email from the new manufacturer confirming our meeting on the 10th jan. i will of course inform you of the outcome, dont wanna temp fate but they are keen for my custom and just as keen to provide quality. keep your fingers crossed for me !! onward and upward !!!!!!!
  16. hi all and thanks for the replies. i made the posting as i hadnt heard anything negitive regarding aldridge"s items, hence why i contacted them, but after daves reply, it would seem i was wrong ? coverdales products, i hadnt heard good reports about, but again, it would seem that was wrong and i did make a prevous posting regarding the ebay sellers, and again, the result was so so. oh well, never mind   :-/
  17. hi all, i, like alot of you are in need of quality carpet sets for my cars, so i got in touch with aldridge and they are willing to do them for us. i will need a set of nos or very good s/h ones so they have templates. anyone interested and anyone have the above so i can get us all a price ?? lloyd
  18. hi paul, i was thinking the same as you regarding this thred getting rather long and maybe goes off track in places, and did think about starting yet another one ( there are others started somewhere ) but i thought it may confuse things even more !? i agree with you that an updated clarification would be good, so here it is 🙂 1,  the mk2 front wings are ready to go with the one manufacturer, all i have do do is make the call, BUT they require a large minimum order, and for me that would mean having 20k or so of panels " sat on the shelf " as i dont have enough confirmed orders. 2, the other manufacture that i am going to see have a smaller minimum order, which means i wont have so much money sat on the shelf ( if any ) and will free me up to get on with the next batch of panels, mk1 or mk2 rears, im uncertain yet which ones first, need to double check " the list ". i am hoping to get to have a meeting with them in the next 2-3 weeks, but im sure the xmas hols will stall things a bit ? 3,  i, like you paul, know the market is there, as on my travels around the country nearly every weekend, most of the triumph owners i speak to have not heard of what i am doing !!!!!!! so goes to prove what i have said all along regarding the very small percentage of owners i am reaching on the fora, but to get all these panels done, its a huge outlay of money so for my own protection i have to make sure its done right, or i will be hundreds of thousands out of pocket and in deep do do !!! IF YOU WANT TO SEND ME PAYMENT FOR WINGS PAUL, ( AND CARL ALSO ), PLEASE DO SO, AS THE MORE CONFIRMED ORDERS I HAVE WHEN GOING TO THE MANUFACTURE, THE BETTER THE PRICE I CAN THRASH OUT WITH THEM. ONWARDS AND UPWARDS !!!!!!!!!!!
  19. COPY OF REG POSTING thanks for the kind words guys, its not that im getting disheartened ( well mabe just a bit ), more frustration i guess, because i KNOW that if i dont succeed in getting these panels remanufactured, within less than 10 years our great cars will be gone !!!!!! yes there will be the odd few left that are at present in a1 condition, but 90% will have died, and that hurts me as my love for these bonkey ole car of ours is massive, dont ask me why, perhaps im bonkey too !!! no comments please   PLEASE dont think some of my postings are having a pop at owners that havent placed an order, as that is not the case, we are living in very hard financial times at the moment, and everyones budget / spare cash is different to others, paying the mortage and bills far outway buying a panel for your trumbie !!! i have recieved nothing but good wishes and offers of help on this panel quest, and the owners that have mentioned about the price being too high, were not complaining, just simply saying it was out of thier reach for now and also putting accross the value of the car offset against the price of say buying 2 or more panels for said car. the values of our cars has from what i can see, risen by nearly 100% over the last 2-3 years, and once panels are available will simply rise even more !? i will go and see the other manufacture and see what they say as they can do the 7/8 wings also, and are keen for my custom, which is a refreshing change believe it or not !!!! as for the register getting involved in this or spares, i echo alans comments, if no one steps up to the plate to offer thier services, how will anything be done ? i must be honest, i really do fear for the registers survival,  something needs to change, dont ask me what or how as i dont know, i dont do politics nor do i want to, all i do know is, everyone sues everyone these days at the drop of a hat, over the most trivial of matters, ensuring people / clubs wont get involved in anything for fear of the afore mentioned, the world is a sad place to live sometimes, bring back the good ole days i say, oh and capital punishment !!! thats all for now folks !!
  20. COPY OF REG POSTING thanks guys, i think that this is simply down to owners assuming that if a panel is smaller than another, it will be cheaper than the bigger one, and this is not always the case for numerous reasons. the how"s and why"s of this panel remanufacture is way to complex to try and convey in the odd posting or two, but i do my best to everyone that has placed thier order, i thank you once again as i have many times in the past :)
  21. COPY OF REG POSTING hi adrian, colin, ted, thanks for your input, always wanted and needed, keep it comming. in relation to adrians note regarding the fact that it is nearly a year since some of you good folk coughed up your hard earned money and placed an order for wings, has been bothering me ( not your comment adrian, the fact ). im sorry its all taking soooooo long to sort, BUT it was sorted and the wings should of been in production by now, that was until the manufacture turned out to be impossible to deal with, had a hissy fit and threw thier toys out of the pram, just because i rang them every now and then requesting a production date after the one given kept running over !!! so as you are all aware, ive had to start again. there were two reasons i had to ask for full payment up front : 1, promises of orders are no good to me, i need confirmed orders 2, number 1 eliminates me running the risk of being stuck with 30-40 THOUSAND pounds worth of panels that owners promised to buy and didnt for whatever reason ( that sum is for the mk2 fronts alone ). should anyone want thier money back until this is sorted again, please just ask and i will return it straight away, but that will be deleating my confirmed orders, catch 22. PLEASE BEAR IN MIND AS I HAVE SAID ALL ALONG, GETTING THESE PANELS DONE RELIES ON YOUR CONFIRMED ORDER NUMBERS, NOT ENOUGH CONFIRMED ORDERS, EQUALS NO PANELS BEING MADE, as much as i love our cars and bust my gut doing anything i can to keep them alive, i simply cant justify nor afford to have thousands of pounds worth of panels just gathering dust in the lock up. sorry if that sounds harsh, but its true. to put things in perspective, when i first started this, and made the now famous " list " i had more than enough goodwill orders to make this happen and more, but once it came to coughing up and placing a confirmed order it was a different story, needless to say I NEED MORE ORDERS. i dont mind being a few grand out of pocket to start with, but as it stands its a wee bit more than that !! in relation to teds note about a half wing compared to a 7/8 wing, the way these tools are made means it would not be cheaper to get a half wing done as the process is the same for both and takes the same amout of time, even a wheel arch would still cost £325 I TRY NOT TO WAFFLE ON IN MY POSTINGS AND BORE THE CRAP OUT OF YOU ALL, BUT AT THE SAME TIME I HAVE TO TRY AND CONVeY WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY, some times it comes out right, and sometimes it dont, hey ho thats life. i will wait and see what the arch prices come in at, because thier ordering system is different, plus they can do ALL the other panels also, so its worth a look at if there is a chance its gunna be cheaper ?? yes, it will slow things up by a month or so, but its taken so bloody long anyway, whats another month or so !!!! onwards and upwards !!!
  22. couldnt agree more ted. a triumph dealer / stockist should know better, he is hinting the car is fit for nowt else than to be broken for spares. you wanna see my mk1 estate that im restoring, this one looks like a new car compared to mine. each and every car, is worth what it is worth to the person buying it, i personally see nothing on that car, body wise that frightens me, but each to thier own. if the car ends up being broken, the seller will lose a potental customer over the comming years, NOT THE WAY FOR THEM TO ADVERTISE A CAR !!
  23. hi all, due to some owners remarking that £325 is a bit expensive for a near full mk2 front wing ( and we all have our own budgets / spare cash that we can afford to spend, and i totally understand that ), i am looking into just getting the arches, complete with front and lower sections attached made by one of the very first companies i delt with, BUT please bear in mind, if the majority of you want me to go down this route, i will NOT be doing tooling for half or near full wings AS WELL. I CANT SEE THEM BEING MUCH CHEAPER THAN THE NEAR FULL WINGS, as they will be hand made, but i am awaiting ball park figures and will be travelling up to have a meeting with them. " you can please some of the people some of the time, but you cant please all the people all of the time " and dont i know it !!! lol hi carl, hang fire on your payment please until i meet with the manufacturer.
