  1. Sadly we had to have Trooper put down on Christmas Eve. He had a tumour between his kidneys and liver that was pressing on the adrenal glands, also fluid build up in the pericardial sack surrounding his heart. Given that he was 15 any treatment would have only been buying time and we thought that it was the kindest thing to do. The house seems much quieter without him (less hair though!) Juliet is missing him too. We'll probably get another rescue in time when we're ready.
  2. It's no good beating around the bush Chris, just tell us what you really think of Skeggy 😅
  3. Nah, they had their backs turned. We got away while they weren't looking! 😁
  4. Just checked, it was about 11pm (and rubbish!) Weston at 5am was definitely better 😁
  5. First proper modification was fitting Alfa seats, absolutely brilliant. Biggest difference to date though was converting from auto to manual od followed by going to 2.5
  6. The Sealey one is rechargeable too, uses the same USB cable as my phone - don't know the right terminology but it's the older android type
  7. I've got a Sealey work light. Doesn't have the red flashy bits on it but it's rugged, very bright and has a good magnetic base. Hopefully we won't need it but it's going in the boot anyway
  8. I think the passenger side failed first because that was completely in two with the rubber actually tearing apart. The engine moving across probably pulled the driver's side apart. That one was just about together, with the rubber coming away from the metal, and fully separated when we took it off the car Luckily I was at Radder's and he had some original secondhand ones which were good. Real pain to change. All credit to Steve who did all the hard work below with Dave Harvey and me doing the top side.
  9. Fair point Rob. I hadn't considered the bellhousing strength, apologies Glang. However I do stand by my original point that, in my case, the failed engine mounts caused the harder gear change which has now gone back to normal. Certainly worth checking the engine mounts anyway.
  10. Yes they were fairly new looking Bastuk mounts - don't know when they were changed, I've only had the car 4 months. The whole engine had moved 3-4 inches over to the passenger side. I reckon that with the gearbox held by it's own mount it put strain on the clutch/input shaft. Anyway it's back to normal now so there must be link somewhere.
  11. Have a look at your engine mounts. Mine suddenly got harder to get into gear on the way to Steve's on Friday. I was in heavy traffic on the M25 and thought it was because of the heat, however we found that both mounts had failed
  12. As a saloon owner Chris Witor has seen plenty of business from me. Lloyd Reed is also very good and helpful to deal with. Bits and pieces from other suppliers obviously along the way, but I did fall foul of seeing cheap basic parts on a site that shall remain nameless (but starts with E and ends with bay) - fuel filters which were dirt cheap, but the first one fitted poured petrol all over the place! Since replaced with a decent one. As always you get what you pay for 🤔
  13. More 10CR prep for Krusty Mustard today. Cheapo leaky fuel filter changed, knackered bottom hose jubilee replaced - coolant changed in the process, gearbox and diff levels checked - both ok, N/S mirror fitted (thanks Tim Ward for making me do it twice 😁) Looking forward to 2 and a bit weeks time 🙂
  14. This is my selection which has gone with us twice now - and will again in 3 weeks time. The Germany one also covers Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. We don't worry about Liechtenstein as Roger and I haven't ever been more than 20 yards into it! 😁

    Nuala Dowie

Shocking news Dave. She was on good form on the C2C last month as always. I was looking forward to seeing her again on the Border Raiders next week and 10CR in September. Attached is a photo Enzo took of her lovely mk2 Spitfire taken on the C2C
  16. Thank you for posting a copy to me Tony, received yesterday
  17. Hi Bruce. For the last 2 runs Ellis has done 2 DMs, one for London and one for the rest of us. In 2019 I think ours was a midweek evening about 2 weeks before the run.
  18. Still nothing here! It's usually a couple of days later than other people but I think this is a new record!
  19. That's the secret. I obviously need to open the download then it'll magically appear 😊
  20. No sign in deepest darkest Worcestershire yet 🤔 Come on Pat, pull your finger out!
