  1. That's a fair point, but we do need a charity that would appeal to a mixed demographic of those who donate (ie, aren't directly involved in the event). In my experience, if it's something they don't have an interest in they donate less or not at all. I see where you're coming from with your suggestion, but it could be surprisingly decisive.
  2. Cheers Charlie, hope you enjoy it and don't hit the beer too hard in Warwick the night before
  3. May I suggest a cancer charity again? My other halfs sister in Law is currently being treated, as are two colleagues. It's a curse that isn't going away soon.
  4. Good to hear Bruce, be good to have you along again... hopefully you get the right map this time 😉 Richard, your entry came over the Christmas break, so you're team number 1. I'll start an entry list when I have a few more entries to add on to it!
  5. I got myself one, and the rest of Team Fallowell got them as Christmas presents too. A shame that our first event, 2012 got such a short write up. Did nothing interesting happen? I remember submitting a story, but maybe a team member nearly falling out of the car isn't the right kind of 'funny'? On the plus side there is a nice little shot of us on the 2016 event when we stopped at Tebay, and like most of the rest of the run, the bonnet is up to let the seam out!!
  6. I'm sure there must be a scrap engine sitting around that you could put though a bandsaw...
  7. Good to hear Rich - No entires on the doormat yesterday, but i expect there will be one or two today - will update the entries list as and when entries arrive.
  8. From memory it's 7/16th, but I couldn't tell you what thread type, BSP maybe, but I can't be sure.
  9. Good morning everyone, In anticipation of the huge rush of entries I'm highly unlikely to receive, I have decided to release the paperwork now, so those of you who are very keen can get an entry to me in time for the actual opening of the entries. Entries will remain open until the middle of Feb. This years event is a little longer in mileage than some of the club events, but the second half is mainly much quicker roads where you can easily average 40 - 60mph (where speed limits allow!), but the timing of the rally has been set at 20mph for the duration, so there should be plenty of plotting time too, and you shouldn't have to risk anything to complete the event on time. I hope it will be quite relaxed but good fun. AJ will be providing breakfast again - the hall we're using is a bit cheaper than before so we're hoping to offer at least a bacon and egg sarnie to all entrants as part of the entry cost, but we may stretch as far as a Full English - TBC. I look forward to seeing you all then, and hopefully a few new faces too!
  10. Check with Mick Dolphin, he does have freely available parts lists on his website.
  11. Have you seen that guys username on ebay!!???
  12. Everything is repairable, but I agree, that is bad. Tubs do come up, although they're often saloon ones when someone has swapped a saloon to a flop-top. Karl at KD Triumph did have a tub or two kicking around, not sure if he's still got them though. Might be worth a try if you're struggling.
  13. I have a whole NOS Stanpart rear wing - if Lloyd would like to borrow it for getting panels made then he's welcome to, but unfortunately it's not for sale - It's for my own Vitesse. Are all those marks in the wings from where you've been chipping the filler out, or from before the filler was applied?
  14. Okay, maybe I mis-spoke, but more worn = less efficient = less power...
  15. My intention is to log book it for rallying, and running in the BTRDA Tarmac series. Unfortunately that's been canned for 2017 whilst the organisers regroup etc, so I may run it as a race car in the 750MC in the mean time, as long as there aren't any modifications that directly contravene each other. We'll see how I get on and I'll report back if I do become the proud owner of a 1988 ******* ****** ***...
  16. Has anyone here log booked a car recently? As I understand it, a circuit racing car does not need log booking, unless 'historic', but rally cars do. I MAY be taking possession of a boy-hood dream toy soon, that is well built, but not 'log booked', and I was wondering if anyone has done it recently. I've read in the blue book etc what is needed, but I can't find out how difficult it is to obtain it. I know that sometimes people in charge can get funny about signing things off...
  17. Good poster in the background of your first picture.
  18. If your nut is bottomed out on the thread then the component is not held in tightly and will still play around. A nut should never bottom out on the thread. Do you have the correct washers on the front, which from memory are around an inch and a half diameter and around 1/8" thick?
  19. It only got louder when you took the carpet off? I'd put the carpet back...
  20. Entry forms, regulations etc will be released on the 15th Dec with entries opening immediately from that point. Expect narrow lanes (hopefully no angry farmers this time!!) for some 'interesting' navigation, and some fast open roads too. Hopefully we'll have some photographers dotted around the route too, but our usual photographers Andy and Rachel may be busy; child number two and moving into their new house all in the space of a week!!
  21. Start venue is now confirmed, as is the finish venue, so I can now finalise paperwork. Expect to see entry forms soon!
  22. Know of any photos workth posting? We like photos here after all
