  1. Fit one filter between the tank and pump and another between the pump and carbs.
  2. Aye, they were built good and straight back in the day! Glad that's not one of mine 😉
  3. Same, mechanically they're pretty good, but the valves can go and so can the diaphrams (often leading to a sump filling with petrol!) One thing that can be a massive pain in the arse that I've never found an actual answer to is the correct way to change the valves as the original ones are staked in by the aluminium body of the pump being peened over.
  4. B would be more correct for a 13/60. The confusion may be in the side light lenses and mounts, as from memory on 13/60s these were 'peaked' so they look angled, although the mount is flat.
  5. Excellent, always nice to get some new faces along to these things! I wonder if the plea in the club mag made people investigate these events more, as a few years ago we (the club) were struggling to get even 6 entries. I'll publish the paperwork soon, but the map you will need is as follows; OS Landranger Map 151 Stratford-upon-Avon Warwick & Banbury Edition C4, Revised 1997 Revised for selected change 2012. ISBN; 978-0-319-23178-4
  6. Nice to know you weren't put off after the last time Bruce! Rich, as always, glad to have you along.
  7. Hot on the heels of Mike's Essex and Suffolk event, I can announce the provisional date for the Warwickshire Winter 12 Car is 26th February - "A Wintery Wootton Wander" The exact start and finish locations will be a few miles apart, but in the region of Leamington Spa and Warwick, just off the M40. You will need Landranger Map 151, Stratford-Upon-Avon. This is a completely new area compared to our last 12 car rally, so new roads and navigation challenges! As usual at the start of the event we will be providing a light breakfast, but given the time of year, we will hope to provide some hot food, and of course coffee and tea will be provided in the entry fee. At the finish location hot food will be available too. Anticipate arrival time to be 9am, briefing at 9.30am and set off at 10am, finishing around 2pm or so. Trophies will be given at the event of the event. As before, this will run primarily for CT teams only, although the event may be opened up to others to fill numbers if needed. Hopefully see lots of you then! *A view you may, or may not see on this event
  8. Can we buy more than one do you know? How many are being printed?
  9. Mmm, nice stress raiser there in the middle of the spring. I wonder how long until it goes 'creak-groan-creak-groan-creak-POTHOLE-BANG-TWANG'. It may not happen super-quickly, but it must be a consideration.
  10. Is there a central air ambulance charity that we could donate the money to which then splits it up between the local teams?
  11. Well, we're sorry we missed it - but we're well off with points on the championship this year so no big loss. We also meant to make it down to have a mingle before it got serious but we were a bit late so everyone was deep into plotting by the time we arrived. Hopefully we didn't annoy people too much. Hopefully we'll see some teams along on the our 12 car next year, probably some time in February or March around Warwickshire. We're in the planning stages, so no details to release yet, but expect the usual fun and games...
  12. I have a Ring one that's pretty good, and never let me down, it's a smart charge too so can be used on cars with stop start etc too, and can run as a full charger as well as a conditioner.
  13. Hi Mike, Just a quick note - AJ and I may end up taking part in an Acclaim... We'll see how things go though!
  14. Oddly enough, it may be because (apparently) MG specified normal 20/50 engine oil for their gearboxes, which obviously were overdrive as well.
  15. Hi Tim, Simon is on the forum, under the username 'SCG' I think. If you can't find him, I'll PM you his email address.
  16. Hi Dave, Yup, the intention is to make a system from stainless that will fit and follow the original route, but isn't quite to original specification. So, there will be a flexible section in it, and all the joining sections will be sleeved rather than bolted flanges to keep production costs down.
  17. Will that fit in a Vitesse? On my Vitesse there is just about enough room between the radiator and the engine to slip a fag paper in, but definitely not a fan!
  18. What type damper did they have Bill? I don't knowingly have a shaft damper on my 2000, and that's an OD car?
  19. The only issue is that from the 26th to the 1st Nov I'll be in Portugal... That may be cutting it fine for prep time!
  20. I've got a new viscous fan clutch thingymajiggler on order now and the radiator went for recoring yesterday, so all being well, AJ and I should be on track to still take part in the event... Probably aught to order the relevant maps I guess.
  21. Keep the cash and sponsor the amount yourself onto someone elses Just Giving Page is probably the easiest way to do it. i can heartily recommend http://www.justgiving.com/Team-Fallowell as a worthy recipient... but that's because it's my team haha.
  22. Bill, I'm looking into manufacturing exausts for the Acclaim in stainless steel. I'm discussing with Simon Goldsworthy 'off-line' as it were to bring together a proposal etc. I'm hoping to get production underway over winter (bit of welding to keep warm!). I've also had a quick chat with Colin Wake about an Acclaim he knows about that I can use for jigging up a prototype exhaust. Maybe not the answer you were hoping for, but as you know yourself, supporting the little man is important and often difficult. Let Simon Goldsworthy know if you're interested in a stainless system as he's looking after the orders and I'm looking after manufacture.
  23. I've fancied building one of the FWD / 4wd hybrids for a while... not sure if a few weeks is enough time to do that...
  24. Hmm, that's odd. We must have bought something else that suited and sold them as being for the Ginetta!
