And Aaron, i remember that a friend told me that he's Gt6 mk2 smoked also a lot when it started, until it was warm.. But he always told me when a car driving behind you came to close , you just need the rev it a bit and the car behind you backed up  ;D because of the smoke  :P   That just remembered that story !  ;)

My new engine smoked like a good 'un for about an hour after it'd been started, whilst I slowly nudged it up down and down quiet backroads to check it was all okay. Then I changed all the fluids, and played with the carbs and the dizzy - ran nicely. Still does, in fact! Although on a cold morning I'll get a good blast of white out the back: Aa Thanks aaron ! it was just condensation in the exhaust , i think also with the twin boxes at the back that trap water in them  :) sorry that is panicked  :B :B :B The spitfire has been everything to the past year so that's why i panicked  :B ;) I went to the garage and he also said to my to let it run for a while until it's warm, also without thermostat .. ( i'm going to test it tomorrow ) it did'nt smoke so many then yesterday  :) Kind regards to you all ! Wim And Aaron , do you use it everyday ?  :)

On saturday the temp gaughe showed just on the last stripe before hot... Yesterday I removed the thermostat everything was alright then. I know it's getting not enough fuel.. So maybe that. Maybe it is condensation... But it ran now for maybe 8 times now and only when it is cold it smokes a little. But yesterday it was a lot more! I will start her tonight when im back from my work so... I also try to film it :)

  9. hi! i've got some radiator flush but on the bottle it says that you need to add it to your existing cool water .. but my system is dry so  ;D I'm thinking to use regular water + the rad flush . Good idea ?  :-/ I've already bought 5 liter of coolant ( ready to use). I don't want to use the new coolant and the flush , then i must get new coolant  :-/ kind regards Wim

  14. 4526 wrote: The wires on my led strips are very thin, not broken one yet. Just need to wire them up for good in the boot area :P And thanks for givin me the idea to use led strips as footwell lights. i've just have seen that 3 led's in the led strip does'nt work  :-/ i got some extra so  :P
  15. 1381 wrote:Look fantastic, nice job Wim. Sorry I missed your question earlier, for the old ones I just unscrewed the bulbs as I think they look better without the original ones lighting as well. By the way is it just me or are the wires coming out of the LED strips way too delicate? I've already broken 2 :( The wires on my led strips are very thin, not broken one yet. Just need to wire them up for good in the boot area :P And thanks for givin me the idea to use led strips as footwell lights.

Just imagine coming around a corner at 3 in the morning to see him parked in a layby with that lot lit up, give you a heart attack!! Nice job, I have to say!! ;D ;D thanks ! i found out that 1 small light it not enough so ..  ;)
  17. junkuser wrote:Pretty impressive amount of light there Wimpus. i know , it's just 2 pieces of 30cm warm white led strip  ;)
  18. So i fitted my new interior lights with also some switches so i can turn them off , on with the doors , or constant on  ;) Also fitted a led strip at the back .. and fitted some new boot lights  :P
  19. i fitted the new interior lights tonight and they work fine  ;D I will post a photo (maybe tomorrow)  ;)
  20. 3122 wrote:I've got switches in my doors, but if I put a bulb in either holder they just don't turn off! Nothing physically wrong with the switches either, by rod-snapper would probably prefer it if she could see approximately what she was doing when trying to strap into the Spitfire in the dark, so I'll probably copy what you do Wim :) my original lights work fine , but i find it a nice look those footwell lights .. But i'm going to make them that is can make them work with the door switches , or constant , or off (off/ON/off switch)  :-/ i'm going to put a led strip in the boot also ( because is have no night there..) and maybe put something behind the seat's ( you know the area ) but that is only going to be turned off/on by a switch  ;) Sooo that's my plan for now  ;D you will see when it's finished  ;) :P
  21. 1381 wrote:Just run a wire joining the two switches together! http://triumphspitfire.rickbaines.com/footwell-lights/ that's where i get the idea from !  ;) it's your car, right ? What did you do with the old/original ones ?  :) Kind regards Wim
  22. hi! i like to install footwell lights at my spitfire ( going to put led strips ) but now i've seen that the right door switch only operates the right original light.. and the left .... how to do it best ?  :-/
