Richard, I was able to mount the original PI plenum on my engine repositioned GT6 (more by luck than judgement) though that was after moving the clutch master cylinder.

Canley Classics did/does a pressing in a heritage wing for the GT6 fuel filler. They also supply to the trade, so you may be able to get it from others such as Paddock, Rimmers, Fitchett. That said, I was not impressed by the quality of the pressing I had compared to the original, so sent the panel back and transferred the pressing and cut-out from another wing. See [Sorry, link no longer available] There is a removable 'flange' as part for the fuel cap assembly that fits inside the wing and is held in place by the cap assembly clamps.

I had a speedo worm drive fail on my 2000 after the speedo failed, so it can happen. Could you disconnect the propshaft and jack up the back of the gearbox to give you enough room to withdraw the worm drive?

I'd go for trying to mount the bracket using the bolts that hold the two parts of the diff together, it'd need some strengthening to keep it steady though. Unfortunately there is probably not enough space to mount it on the half shaft output housings. You could drill and tap into the flattish area above the half shaft output housings.

Likewise with the engine mounts. regards John John, I sent you some pictures of my chassis modifications a couple of years ago, I can send these again if you wish? As you may be able to see from my blog, I started off using a Spitfire front end plate and standard Spitfire rubbers, but the rubber mounts started to fail in shear and seeing as the six cylinder mounts did not have much of a larger surface area, I decided to change to Jaguar E type mounts. This uses a modified GT6 engine mount bracket and the E-type rubber mounted on a platform on the suspension tower (see Overdue updates

Goodwood Track Day 25th Nov - Booking Now Open
black_rover replied to Chriss's topic in Comps & Motorsport
I had planed to come this track day but I seemed to have broken my car, sorry. -
heraldcoupe wrote:... Can anyone offer a part number for a Koni damper which will either fit the original wheelarch mounting point, or one which will fit between the Rotoflex vertical link and the standard chassis mounting point used on the Mk1 and other non-Rotoflex cars. Without the doughnuts in the way, the damper should clear the drivetrain between these points, but will a damper to Herald/Spitfire dimensions fit in terms of extension and compression? If so, is there a Koni number?... Bill, I have the Jones/Bowler CV conversion on my GT6 and have fitted Koni dampers to the rear, using the standard chassis mounting point (as per non-rotoflex cars) The Koni part number I used is 80-1389 It seems to work well without bottoming out or restricting travel too much.

Completion Statistics
black_rover replied to Tim Bancroft's topic in Round Britain Reliability Run (RBRR)
I believe that Car 35. TR3A, pulled out due to exhaust problems. They didn't see one of the unmarked sleeping policemen at Edinburgh and managed to damage the centre silencer. By the time they got to Bude it was very loud. -
Sorry to hear about this, guess you have informed Nigel, Tim or Jason?

RBRR Support Okehampton

timbancroft61 wrote:Sorry John, Breakfast is at Lands End, not Okehampton. Yes, everyone does indeed form an orderly queue. The system does work. :) True, but for marshals and anyone who is around Okehampton (probably not RBRR entrants) the food services there open at around 7am. So we'll probably hang around there for breakfast before heading over to Bude to see the cars come through in daylight. Steve -
I think this information from the DVLA may be what you need for the facts. http://www.direct.gov.uk/prod_consum_dg/groups/dg_digitalassets/@dg/@en/@motor/documents/digitalasset/dg_180218.pdf wrote:To keep the original registration number: Cars and light vans must use: * the original unaltered chassis or unaltered monocoque bodyshell (that is, the body and chassis as one unit); or * a new chassis or monocoque bodyshell of the same specification as the original.
