  1. If you were the average 5.6ft your head wouldn't be rubbing on the roof ;) These new cards, is the carpet on them thickish ..Wilton shag pile sort of thing, as the ones on my GT6, has a sort of brushed fabric/hair on the bottom, and it's not very thick, it may be the new ones have gained in size :-/
  2. Your to tall, the average is 5.6... why your almost a giant ;) Have you tried taking the cards off and seeing if the doors shut without them on, the new seals can be a bit large and it may be these that are stopping the door from shutting
  3. Hi Bill, on my MK3 it comes from the bottom of the battery tray and then goes through a grommet in the floor, this is on the level piece just behind the foot rest, I can feel it sticking out just behind the front chassis out rigger. Hope that makes sense. Fred
  4. If it's blowing it may fail (depending on how good/bad the tester is) if it's not blowing and is not hanging off, it should pass. Our Honda Jazz has a very rusty/crusty back box, it's not blowing and that has passed 2 MOT's like that :)
  5. So we may have some fun at Bovington then
  6. ferny wrote:Are you bringing a fire engine then? May be, why do you want to have a play ;) No, I can get bottled water with my other job :)
  7. Well as I said, Dave helped me get my car running much better than it had, I have fitted new plugs and new dizzy cap and leads and this has also helped. I did give my carbs a good clean up with carb cleaner as they had not been cleaned out properly for many years. Are yours set up Ok, when the engine is running, spray WD40 onto the spindles where they go into the carb body, if worn, the idle may speed up when this is done. I am by no means an expert with these and I'm sure one will be along soon ;)
  8. I have the same carbs and I have a small amount of movement side to side, my car still runs a little lumpy on tick over but is a lot better since Davemate helped me out. Are you having problems with your idle then.
  9. I read somewhere about reverse bleeding brakes using a pressure system from the extremities back to the master,as Dave points out :)
  10. I will bring the water, no one else bother about the water, it's sorted. :) The only problem we have is if it's bloody boiling hot weather, can't see it some how though. :-/
  11. Dave, I can bring 2ltr bottles of water, let me know how many :)
  12. Oh by the way, I went for Argon/CO2 mix as I find it welds better with my machine  :)
  13. Dave,I just checked and I'm with Adam gas, as Ted say's, they don't fill as much as some but I have welded my sons mini and the GT6 and still have plenty left. A good idea is to take the wire roll in doors in the winter as they will start to rust if in your shed or garage and when that's happened, it's a right bugger to weld with. :)
  14. That  looks ok Dave, Clarke are a good make. The wheel should clean up with a with wire brush, I wouldn't use abrasive paper on it Now the gas, I got mine from somewhere up your way and they delivered it too, I will try and find the delivery note but Adam gas are quite good.
  15. That dashboard is identical to my GT6 dash layout, apart from that secret red switch :)

From what iv'e read, it's a very good service but very expensive and you have to strip anything non metal that you want to keep as the acid will eat most things...apart from good steel  :)
  17. Hi TC, where are you based, I take it your in the UK? It may be wise to brace your door openings before you remove the body from the chassis, there are a few cars about that have some weird shut lines when finished, due to the body bending when removed.
  18. rotoflex wrote:If you've got a GT6, closely watch or remove the fuel line going around the front when getting busy with fire in that area. Bill, all that extra heat may help though ;)
  19. I agree, try heating the stud first should help, see this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZ1nr1WroRs&feature=relmfu, it may help
  20. Picked some up today, thanks for the link Rich

  22. So is VR1 suitable for none raced engines then, I don't intend on any hard driving in mine. At that price you can't go wrong and it's worth buying a few tins

Last week my company car was suddenly ill and I had no choice but to use my GT6 as the coolest rep mobile in the country 8) Did 2 hours on motorway averaging around 75 - 80mph and never got above halfway on the gauge, same as ever. Wouldn't exactly recommend this to a friend as it all seems quite wrong but its worked like this a long while and has never had any overheating issues since its installation by the previous owner. My car is set up exactly the same as yours BO, and although I have never driven it, when I have it running in the garage for long periods (not smoothly), the gauge never goes near the half way mark, the Kenlowe kicks in once up to temperature.

I do enjoy marshalling at bovinton but next year I'll be doing as many auto solo's as posable  :) Just think you get 18(if I worked that out correct) runs at bovinton. 18 adrenaline rushes, as a Marshall watching the clock I get over 100 rushes because I am always wishing and wanting you all to get faster times as you are all going around and remember I can see the clock, you can't ! If that makes sence !!! Dave, you will have to give me some marshalling on the marshalling mate ;)
