ChrisAdams
On a 1976 Toledo, it uses the single piston caliper on the front brake. When this caliper is off the disc can it be split taking off the outer side, without having to bleed the brake system by opening the piston on the inner half? Clive
Toledo, like dolomites (same caliper) has a pair of pistons.Unless you are competent mechanically, I would advise against splitting calipers. If a caliper is split, it willneed bleeding, all the fluid will be everywhere. My one other thought here is the car may have a "trackerjack" vented disc conversion, if so a ford caliper is used, and then the caliper can be taken off the slider part.....
