MikeAndNic
Hi everyone - ive recently noticed a small oil leak coming from the head on the 1200. Its dripping onto the exhaust and when i stopped the other day at the services, there was a nice burny smell and a bit of smoke.So......... I need to do the head. Where can i get a gasket from as i cant find one on the ebay? Also, has anyone got a step by step or tips on this just incase? Im just going to do a simple swap - no skimming. Any recommendations? CheersMike

Mark Hammond
Just check the torque settings on the head bolts, and tighten in the correct sequence in the workshop manual. the 1147cc engine usually leaks oil on the back nearside corner of the head to the block. Hardy little engine that seldom gives any bother, I'd be surprised if you had head gasket failure.Mark
Steve Cureton
I would imagine it's more likely to be the rocker gasket that's leaking so check that out first. If you're lucky it will save you a few hours work.
