Neilriser Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Hi All,i am working on a refurb of a rear tub, there are no anti burst catches.I would like advice on them ie are they really worth fitting,do some members not have them etc etc .Regards Neil Quote
glang Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Is this a convertible or a saloon that you are going to run without the roof? In either of these cases or if the car is severely rusted and flexing badly the catches would be advisable as they will stop the doors popping open in the event that the body bends enough to allow the door lock to slip out of engagement (this also depends on door gap). My Vitesse is a saloon so doesnt have catches and Ive also used it without the roof with no problems but its in good condition and I dont take off when going over hump back bridges😁 Quote
Neilriser Posted January 30, 2021 Author Posted January 30, 2021 Hi sorry yes it is a convertible at the moment it is a body off rebuild and not got as far as door gaps . Quote
glang Posted January 30, 2021 Posted January 30, 2021 Then it should have the catches especially if its insured as such. Trouble is it appears theyre no longer made so have to be bought second hand and are expensive.... Quote
