eveldave
Newbie question....I have a 1500 Spitfire and the alternator needed replacing. When I disconnected the old one there was a black wire jammed into the connector block going into the back of the alternator that goes to a capsule looking thing attached to the side of the engine. What is it, where should it really be connected and should it be Live or Earth?CheersDave
Dicky Blighter
Does the capsule thing have a slotted flat tab that goes under a bolt on the engine? It sounds like a suppressor capacitor for the radio - take it off and bin it as it shouldn't be needed with an alterantor. eveldave
You may be right although it doesn't look like the ones on the Rimmer Bros site. I've taken a snap and posted it on Flickr is you have time to take a peek?http://www.flickr.com/photos/63763930@N05/5807727659/in/photostreamCheersDave.
