heraldcoupe
I sourced a pattern seal for the 2000 Estate for a customer some years back. Profile is the same sponge section as used on Mk1 Saloons and early Mk2s, where it's glued onto the bootlid. I've kept the section in inventory ever since, it's a reasonably popular section. If you take a look at my extrusions list, it's part number BS3:http://www.rarebits4classics.co.uk/Forms/Extrusion_List_15_11_2006.pdfCheers,Bill. AlanChatterton
Bill,The estate tailgate seal is a strange shape, with several moulded corners and curves in it..........I assume your BS3 is a straight piece bought by the metre........This being the case, how do we fit it? heraldcoupe
Hi Alan,Sorry, I can't advise on fitting to an estate as it's not something I've tried for myself. The customer who ordered the initial seal matched it to a sample and was happy with the result, so I can only assume fitting was successful. The same profile when used on saloons did not have moulded corners, I briefly handled an original in Stanpart packaging to confirm this.Cheers,Bill.
