triton john
I have got an unfinished kit car that looks like a Marlin and has a Herald engine. The problem I am up against is in the distrbuter area. I have had to sort out a wiring loom that was put together by Stevie Wonder. There is one wire from the coil going into the distributor. There is a spark at the points but it does not get to the plugs ! On the side of the distributor there is a male conector that I do not have a wire to suit, is this the problem ? if so what wire am I missing. steve_1360
That terminal is normal connected to the coil, looks like its been bypassed by the other wire you mentioned that goes between the distriutor and the coil.I would check the cap and the rotor arm if you have a spark at the HT going into the dissy but not at the plugs.Steve
Jason
There are lots of dodgy rotor arms around, they all come from the same manufacturer apparently! Buy several and suspect it first time if you are seeing a spark at the points but not at the plugs
