thescrapman
The sump holds about 5 litres, just about the same as a full can.But... there are better products available than the Halfords 20/50 for similar prices.CheersColin
THE HORNET 81
Thanks Colin, are we talking duckhams and some of the other brands of oil in terms of better quality?
thescrapman
I have been using Millers Classic Sport 20/50, which I think is now 20/60. But that is more expensive. Valvo line VR1 is very good, and comes up at a decent price via Euro Car Parts. Watch for the discount codes. Free delivery usually, or click and collect at your local branch.(Just checked. HOT30 is todays code. www.eurocarparts.com. £23 for 5 litres.)Do you have the Original oil filter still, or a conversion? If converted I think VW Golf ones fit (need to check years) and they are a couple of quid each at ECP.CheersColin
Nick Jones
Yep, Golf 1, 2 & 3 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0L oil filters fit. This is what I use.Nick

Greeks
Mr Hornet, in case you misunderstood Colin's referring to whether you have converted the standard oil filter housing to a spin-off conversion like this: http://www.chriswitor.com/proddetail.php?prod=CW2525If so, then, and only then, can you use the VW Golf filters.
