rhys
Hi have just come across a set of twin carbs of a spit 1500 and was wondering if they would fit directly onto my herald 1200http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150142943026&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=
heraldcoupe
Looks like the wrong link.....To answer your question though, the 1200 head has two inlet ports, the 1300 and 1500 heads have four inlet ports. As such the inlet manifold has a completely different footprint. You will need both inlet and exhaust manifold intended for the 1200 engine, originally a factory option, otherwise sourced from a Spitfire Mk1 or Mk2. The exhaust front pipe will also need to be matched.Cheers,Bill.
rhys
I have just realised this a better option would possibly be to fit a 1500 spit engine, I have noticed they are cheap enough anyway. Cheers for the quick advice
