Brian 93957
Hi silly question i know but im trying to fit a new choke cable to my mk 2 pi and i cant see how the knob on the end comes off. i dont want to break it as the new cable has a later square one on it so id like to reuse it if poss. on other triumphs theres been a spring loaded pin holding it on but i cant see one on this and it dosent seem to want to unscrew from the cableany help would be welcomethanks
Doug Thompson
If the knob will not come off ,you will have to feed the whole new cable in from the cars interior in to the engine bay ,taking off the retaining nut which should be on the shaft just behind the dash . then tighening it after ,hope that made sense ! Fuzzy Harris
If i`m not getting confused you seem to have a tr6 cable, why don`t you get a correct saloon pi one with the round knob, if it is a tr6 cable is it the same lenght as i seem to remember trying a mk2 cable on my mk1 pi and it didn`t fit, to short, just a thought before you start playing with your knob. Brian 93957
thanks for the advice i think the cable is correct length. i was told by various suppliers that the later cable with the square knob was all thats available at the moment. the part no looks correct. Fuzzy Harris
Have you tried James Paddock in Chester, they had some correct mk2 PI`s in stock a while ago about £25.
