martinb
Spitfire 1500, hasn't been used/started for many years. Turning ignition on turns the engine on the starter motor but it won't fire up. Fuel lines are all ok and the fuel pump is pumping fuel. However, there doesn't appear to be a spark. Coil, HT leads and spark plugs have all been replaced with new. Voltage across the +/- terminals of the coil is about 6VWhat steps do I need to take to find the cause?
rotoflex
After they've sat for a long while, the surfaces of the ignition points are usually corroded.Clean them up with emery paper, or replace them.In my experience, just putting in new gas & dressing/replacing the points gets them to go after a long nap.
